… and you won’t be able to do much in Shadowlands.
As a protection paladin I completed every layer and level of Thorgast, but it took me 3 hours to finish everything. Yes, 3 days, because I have a family and I’m also working my b off to feed them.
I decided to do some world quests … oh boy, this was a bad decision. It took me 10 minutes to fly between the new zones. With 3 zones I ended my time for one day.
I did some heroics. Easy, but 15-20 minutes / run, another day passed and I didn’t find the time to complete any mythics for this week. No time to gear up.
Of course I didn’t have any time to pvp. That thing requires tremendous amounts of time.
So basically, having an hour to play every day, I got 610 soul ash from 6 Thorgast runs, about 2000 anima, 0 honor … 100 infused ruby … the heck is this ?! and I couldn’t find the time to complete the daily WQ, maw quests, etc. This makes me feel bad about playing wow. Too many things to do if you actually have only one hour a day to play.
In BFA I was able to do 2 runs of horrific vision in an hour - only one needed for weekly shroud. I was able to do a mythic+ key to assure my chest loot and I had time left for arenas and actually play with my friends. I had time to do the invasions every week and to run the little vision every day.
I’m actually thinking about leaving wow for now, because my schedule of one hour a day isn’t enough to play wow anymore.
LE: I also took 2 free days from work to reach max level on my pally (main spec holy, off-spec protection for the solo content)
I also work about 9h per day + I have a wife and little over 1year old kid in home. I can play about 3hours per day if lucky. I have farmed all mythics, done dailys, got over 12k/15k honor points, done thorgast etc.
And if u are a tank u can find group for mythics super fast and in one hour u can do 2-3 mythics depend on ur group tho. With good dps it is easily done. U can also get good amount of honor either u win or lose and usually normal bgs will finnish fast so just que up
The game is mostly made for the majority of the playerbase which probably is below 25 that doesn’t have much to do more than spending tons of time on this game.
If you want to play as a casual player you need to spend your gametime on whatever you feel like you need to catch up to for the day.
You will never catch up to a serious gamer but if you keep it up with 1 character it will be worth it in the end.
Thank you for your kind replies. I nedeed to see your point of view on my time issue and I agree with you.
Don’t get me wrong, I like wow and Shadowlands, but I just don’t find the time for it … maybe I’m slower than you guys … I’m almost 50 years old I should think about playing something else.
I don’t know what is the answer you are searching for. But it’s common knowledge that every MMO is a time sink.
You can either take wow in moderation and enjoy the little time you have to play it or simply move to another game if the situation is too frustrating.
Sucks for you that you don’t have the time to play but why would they make the game EASIER so you can finnish the entire thing in an hour? It is an MMO and it should be VERY HARD to be decent, let alone GOOD. Anyone who does not put the time required does not deserve to be on the TOP.
If you do have 1 hour of free time a day, then I highly suggest you to play single player games. WoW is an mmo and every mmo want you to spend so much time. Clearly this is not the game for you, but if you really want to play then no point complaining.
At least you managed to finish more then me this week, thats something at least i’ll do what i get the time to do, if i fall a little behind its not the end of the world. I’m not gonna compete for world first, get cutting edge or do the highst keys possible anyways.
Sooo? You have less timw to play. Why should game be cuttere to people what dont have time to play? Just simply accept fact you no longer have time to play games and that you wont have bis geared char.
Your problem is not that you have only one hour per day - one hour per day is, quite frankly, already a lot of time to give to a single game even if most WoW players play much more.
Your problem is the inconsistency between the time you have and your expectations.
Just accept that you will be behind all players who play more than an hour per day, that you will discover most aspects of the game much later than them (although believe me if you play one hour every single day you will have done all there is to do in the expansion before it is over).
Or if you can’t accept being behind, then indeed you are better off quitting WOW entirely.
Maybe this has already been mentioned but would it be possible for you to re-arrange your game time? Like 2 - 2 1/2 hours every second day instead? A buddy of mine does like that. 2 hours on weekdays, then a 3-4 on Saturday or Sunday.
