It said that we (those that bought the epic etc package) would get to get head start on the 22nd right? But I heard that the servers will be released at 11pm london time. thats midnight in CET. So question is…what happend to a day? is it 22nd or is it 23rd thats intended headstart date?

Everything is always 1 day later in the EU.

so in reality its not 4 days but 3 days just cause we are in EU?
Don’t seem fair to us EU players to lose a day of headstart.
I seem to recall a time when Blizzard would release on same time of day
no matter where you was.

No, in reality it says this:

⁴Beta Access and Early Access dates subject to change. Minimum Early Access duration is 3 days. Limited time only. Play time subject to possible outages and time zone differences.

You lost nothing as they didn’t promise anything more, just only the minimal duration depending on changes in schedule and possible outages and time zone differences. Still, the 3 days is maintained.

Checking only Americas ↔ EU it seems their release timers match.

Release times for official TWW Launch

  • Americas (PDT): August 26 at 3:00 PM
  • Europe (CEST): August 27 at 12:00 AM
  • Korea (KST): August 27 at 7:00 AM
  • ANZ (AEST): August 27 at 8:00 AM

Dude it’s GLOBAL release. That means that EVERYONE gets the same hours between prerelease/release.

Its always released globally at the same time. i.e EU at midnight. Eastern US 7pm etc.

Are you absolutely sure you´re talking about World of Warcraft and not some other game?

Because even TBC had a simultaneous global release @ 0:00 CEST /15:00 PDT, and I´m not aware of any expansions that came before that… :beers:

The game is released at exactly the same time for everyone on the planet at the same time. However we have timezones.

So when I start at 23:00 on the 22nd in the UK my gaming BFF will start at 00:00 on the 23rd. We will be starting to play the same game at the same time. It’s just that my country is in a different timezone to his.

Everywhere gets to start the game the moment it is released. There is no staggered release it starts globally everywhere all at once.

You get the same amount of time as everyone else in the world - due to Timezones.
Early Access:
23:00 BST - August 22
00:00 CEST - August 23

Live Launch:
23:00 BST - August 26
00:00 CEST - August 27

BOTH are exactly 4 days apart.

I know people will have different daily routines, for work shifts or whatever, but who’s gonna be playing TWW when you would normally be in bed asleep, as soon as you can, be it early access or global launch? (Assuming the servers don’t struggle…)

No they don’t “always”. You’re lying. I don’t keep a diary of launch stability but I can’t remember when the last one went wrong.
