Good point - the thing is, the Victorians were not as 'sexually repressed ’ as you think. They had to carry a certain image in public because it was the right thing to do at that time, but behind closed doors…let’s just say the behaviour would make Goldshire look like a convent. Not to mention the excessive narcotics abuse that went on
The male bloodelf joke is also totally not offensive. I mean its a joke… its even in the name, plus its totally Belf signature as they are narcisistic and consider themselves gorgeous… I hardly see the hurt… just sad

Blizzard are clearly over reacting to all the recent allegations and maybe the developers left want to do this so they can ‘draw a line’.
Remember some of them may have been friends with these ‘departed’ people without knowing about their seedy activities. Think of it as a moving on exercise. Make more sense if you do.
In the end if the removal of the jokes bothers a person so much then there are plenty of other games to play. I think it is daft but on a human level can understand why.

I totally get and respect the realy life case about Blizzard and believe these people should be punished. But Azeroth is not the world…

Yes, the thing is, the harassment and abuse inside a blizzard office is nothing to do with the video game overall.
I mean sure remove the reference names for these abusers, but why the other things like achievements and emotes? I think at this point they are mistaking this video game for Twitter with non-stop virtue signaling.

Okay, the added males in Kara and BT are a welcome addition and I also appreciate the removal of RL-Personal References. I also don’t care for the changed Items but … and lets be REAL honest here: if someone feels offended by a hardy joke/flirt or even a Quest name (looking at the Sons of Hodir here) in a world where our characters commits numerous war crimes and morally highly questionable things … Let’s just say it feels highly hypocrite to me and Warcraft might not be the right game for those persons in general.
On the other side this just strengthens that one prejudice of prude america in its best way possible: everything with violence = good and everything with naughties = bad

Pretty much my point. I mean there are several ways of being a d**k in-game. Like the world opens in two , the veil between life and death is open, and while you are doing quests and the eye of the jailer is hunting you, the other faction is camping killing you not allowing you to quest or do anything really… but hey!! Their offensive lines got removed so you shouldnt worry of being offended lol

Why do I get the feeling Blizzard devs are machine-gunning through all of WoW’s content at random with the censor gun.

Most of the changes are silly. Meh.
I’d never seen / heard most of the jokes. the one “Nice pants, what’s the drop rate.” did make me chuckle but I can see why they might want to remove it. Shame but meh.

Actually, they were surprisingly sexually open, sent noods to eachother through post, letters describing their encounters, a not uncommon career for wifes was, ahem, how do I censor the word for the forum, “pleasing others for money”, so, WoW is literally worse then the 1800s when it comes to sexual repression already and it will get worse.
