Those are exactly the facts, and that’s what I’m trying to explain.
But players are not only bad, but stupid. They read on WoW Head that it was a nerf (it’s true, but if you play perfectly, and let’s be honest, 99% does not play perfectly.) https://youtu.be/RNcu3gnqY4A?si=OjcYoFS_4WLZuVv0
I tested single-button assistant on arcane, it keeps casting arcane blast even when I have clearcasting procs and it doesnt use barrage when I have arcane charges, it just keeps casting arcane blast. It also doesnt cast arcane surge so its useless as one button rotation if it never uses my biggest dps cd, this is an actual joke really. I do 2mil dps on pvp dummy on my own and with obr 700k dps, an actual joke the whole thing it doesnt even do half of anything sensical just keeps casting arcane blast
Sometimes I genuinely wish people would just the very first post of a discussion…
… which just so happens to contain a Moonkin destroying a +17 using the one button rotation, and he also ends up doing the most damage in his group against two other players playing their rotation normally.
That one button rotation will easily assist you in clearing the mythic raid. No question whatsoever.
Yes, the arcane one notoriously loses like 40% damage compared to not using it.
I’m loving it. As someone who is slowly but surely losing the ability to use my right arm due to chrnonic pain it’s a god send. Ive been trying the Underpin and after so many failed attempts due to my arm becoming just becoming to sore trying to kick bombs at the adds while maintaning a rotation that I had to let the boss kill me before waiting 10 minutes (and a cocodomol…) to try again.
Today I put on the one button feature on and after 2 attempts I finally killed him.
“In addition, a Single-Button Assistant can be used to cast the next recommended ability in the sequence. This assistant is designed to have a small additional global cooldown added between abilities so that it is still useful for learning new skills, aiding those who are looking for additional help, or for those who want to experience the story or game on a more casual basis.”
It was funny, the difference on arcane my own st being 2mil and this obr doing 700k dps that is not even viable for any content, and it doesnt press missiles or barrage even half the time sensically, just keeps casting arcane blast. And it didnt even use surge so opener will fail miserably, just absolute useless.
If we start seeing players being asked to turn on one-button rotation in M+ then we know we have a problem. Until then, I think it’s a great idea for those who struggle with managing rotations for whatever reason. I won’t be using it myself for now - if I wanted a one-button rotation I wouldn’t be playing WoW in the first place. However, if WoW is still around when I’m in my 80s then I’m sure I’ll be using it!
And remember this is WoW - every new WoW feature is badly tuned at launch.
Idk, I drag the thing from my spellbook to my hotbar button 1, start pressing it on dummy and it does 700k dps and doesnt use my biggest dps cd or any of my procs or do anything even half sensical what arcane would do. Then I do my opener without it and pull 2mil dps on the dummy, so. I would throw it in the lake with a rubber duck with this bad rotation or not reacting on procs, and I would never use it even when leveling solo as this is just terrible beyond, and the classes that I can already press 123 type brainless rotation I dont need something like this anyway for any content I could think of. Im on full arcane charges and it casts 12x arcane blast till it uses 1 missiles from clearcasting and then uses the charges to arcane barrage??? 12 arcane blasts on full charges without prioing barrage?!? Beyond trash.
The moment people realise this is very viable way to Play - that moment Blizzard is forced to take action and prune the buttons bloat and change specs to be much more fun to Play then they are now.
Ok, didnt know that, but still. Did you read the rest what I said, this is beyond useless and of no use at all to me on any classes I would need such and the classes I already have brainless 123 type rotation I would not need it on any content I could think of.
I mean its doing 700k dps vs my own 2mil dps. Thats pretty much all I need to know of how good it is.
Just beyond terrible yes, actually hilarious how bad it is. Ppl could do flawless rotation with some ovale type rotation assist addon without gcd nerf and it would actually prio right buttons. 700k dps with obr vs my own 2mil dps here, very good
It’s very hit and miss depending on class, but isn’t that even more of a problem? Players gravitating towards playing / inviting the specs that OBR is capable of doing the majority of the work for them on?
Yea I dont know about that, I just posted to say I tested it and found 700k dps from it vs my own 2mil dps. So now I can say I have tested it, wont ever use it. Full stop.
Don’t say something that might come to haunt you later.
Design-wise it looks pretty solid. Across the myriad of specs there are in WoW, Blizzard are not going to get the OBR right for all of them on the first try.
But they got some of them pretty close.
And it doesn’t seem like there’s any dps spec that has a rotation that can’t work decently with OBR.
So it’s just a matter of time before Blizzard has polished and optimized the feature across all the specs, and then it’s all just a matter of Blizzard deciding how good they want OBR to be.
And none of this feels like a long-term goal for Blizzard. This’ll take a couple of patches to get right, not more.
I dunno man… It’s not super smart, but when I practice against the 5 target dummies near the entrance to Dornogal, it hovers about 20% below me at around 5-6k DPS. Same with the ST dummy. That’s worse, yes, but it’s not awful. I think heroic raiders could get away with this no problem whatsoever.
My ST was 2.4m, its was 1.9m. Frost.
Measuring from CD coming up till next CD comes up - so basically the ebb of the rotation - the lowest values.
It does a few things wrong:
Doesn’t attempt to shatter meteor shower
Doesn’t understand Coldest Snap
Doesn’t order the water elemental to attack (I think Blizzard assumes this is automatic, but my WE is set to passive and I manage it with macros. tBC era techniques that have just lived on here lol)
I almost immediately cancel Shifting Power
Otherwise… it plays it pretty well… Like… idk? It’s
I guess arcane is worse. There is a lot of juggling there that’s a little more interesting and which isn’t so easy to get a simple state machine to do…
PS:
Arcane OBR just AoE’d for 4.7m
I Arcane AoE’d for 6m
Haven’t tried ST yet, but… idk about that 700k Alyth
