Think it would be better if there was only 1 character counted per account for the R1 cutoff. Therefore not 5 alts of 1 person would get rank 1, but instead a higher variety of players.
Alts that are in Rank 1 Range would still get rank 1, but only 1 character per account would count into the rank 1 cutoff if you understand what I mean.
I think especially with the difference between Gladiator and Rank 1 players being over 700 Rating this would be a good thing to implement
if they did that then they’d have to make it so that characters of the same account UNDER rank 1 rating only counted for one slot as well, which would more of less completely negate the entire point of making only 1 character in rank 1 range count.
Reason being is that lets say everyone who gets rank 1 gets it on 3 characters, if suddenly they all only took up one slot instead of 3, then 2/3 more people would get into rank 1 range. This would mean that instead of top 100 characters getting the title, 300 characters would get the title, which would equate to top 0.3% of the characters on the ladder.
TL;DR, Yes they could make it so that each account only counted for 1 rank 1 slot, but they would have to reduce the amount of rank 1 slots avaiable too to balance it out so that rank 1 is still 0.1% of characters. The last thing the game needs is for r1 titles to become more meaningless and follow the same trend as gladiator
The whole idea of the current “rank 1” title is busted anyway. It lost all of its meaning when Blizzard decided to start giving it to the top 0.1%. And that’s assuming it had any meaning to begin with considering it was given to 5v5, win traders and backwater BG team sharers as well.
Would be a far better system if it was just given to the top 5-10 players of each class or something along those lines.
You have to realize that 90% of the R1 community are people with no life who play the game for 10 hours a day thinking they’re somehow relevant having the fattest ego on earth. So making any changes in the top 0.1% bracket would literally upset most of these R1s cause each one of them simply need at least 3 spots.
Nah. It’s basically a combination of having enough free time to spend on this game and then either have a team who shares the same goal as you or just happen to know a lot of R1 people. xD
Unless you really think that last season’s 3200 backpedalling SP/Boomie/RShaman players were good enough for an actual R1.
i dont agree, dosent matter, if you cant reach 0.1% your not gonna get that r1, its supposed to be only the top players, and if they go for alts and make it even harder for new upcoming r1s, so be it, verry few shud have r1 title imo, but i still think glad shud be top 0.5%.
True, comp, time investment and partners are all factors. But if you’re really a rank 1 player and push for it, you’ll get it. Even if others get it easier due to comp etc
