ehhh is something wrong here… i thought MMR was supposed to determine how much rating you got , if your MMR is much higher than your CR
This is how it is, but it is also capped to up to 25 points per win. Don’t worry though, you won’t be losing points when you keep your mmr 400 points above your cr. For 10 wins you should get around 200 cr.

I’ve heard 25 and seen at most 24 personally. But that one point hardly matters. Keep your mmr higher than your cr, win more than you lose and you will always get more points for wins than you lose for losses. This is how you climb.
i was 1400mmr above my cr and i was still getting max 24
Then its most likely 24 and not 25, but that doesn’t change much.

Yea, thats how it is supposed to work. Its to prevent ppl to lucky streak for elite instantly, but to prove they can do at least 50% winloss after they streaked up. But with 30 min queues and lets say 50% winloss thats a lot of afking time. Thats why I decided I dont need my alt elite transmongs after all…

yeah i dont mind that at all,but since 1800cr i was waiting 1h per match the least,max was 2 and a half hour.,… so iwas able to play only at certain day/time
Yea, paying sub for 24h uptime and being able to play only in 3-4h window due to a dead game definitely sux, lol. And it only gets worse the higher you get. Im glad I got elite earlier and dont have to deal with it now. Anyway, good luck. You will need it.

no need,did my elite,but now my alts are around 2k cr and now i got like 30min for that >< im thinking to drop cr somehow but dont wanna throw games on purpose.
So whats the point of pushing up since you have the achievement, transmogs and nothing else than 1h queues are waiting for you up there? I completely lost any motivation to log in, despite that I wanted to get few more elite sets on alts. This is just pain to sit such long queues just to get a team, which doesnt even do objectives and do it over and over again.

im farming vicious saddles as im missing hefty of them,plus helping few guildies to get elite set /weapons
And i can confirm what u saying, 2k mmr is new 1.6mmr hell ><
Did you find a use for these or you havent played pvp before? I have like 20+ saddles extra and I dont even play too much.
I actually focus on pvp every 3rd expansion >< im pve pleb ^^

As I recall the simple elo system works this way:
There is a fixed amount of points to divide each game (e.g. 25).
We assume normal distribution centered at player’s rating.
We compare player’s rating to opponent’s MMR and compute the probability of win from the chosen distribution.
If opponent’s MMR = player’s CR, the player gets 12.5 points.
If MMR is inifinitely higher than CR, 25 points.
Infinitely lower (though it cannot go negative, so probably lognormal distribution was a better choice), than 0 points.
So the formula is:
Win points = 25 * (1 - CDF(mu=player_rating, opp_mmr)),
where CDF – cumulative density function,
mu – mean (location).

I don’t understand it either … i’m playing at 2.8k mmr but i’m only progressing 24 - 25 rating per win … so i’m just very slowly advancing … currently at 1720 rating and it’s slow its just endless grind i guess?

Starting MMR has shifted from 1500 to 1800 with the so-called inflation
So your MMR hell at 2000 is in fact the MMR hell from ~1600 you’re talking about
