Hey, as the title suggests, every time I have pally power on it makes my game FPS spike sometimes and I frequently have to /reload. I have disabled all other addons 1 by 1 and its definitely not from them , but from PP. Also its pointless to say that I use wowup to update my addons of course. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue, because its really bothering me. Please help
never had this issue you describe and ive been playing my pala since classic p1 with pala power
I also don’t have this issue with pally power. What you described tho happened to me when i was using different weakauras! Also I know a little trick so you don’t lose fps after 1h (especially useful for raiding)…
Please tell me Parsegodx, its really annoying for me this drop in fps… even for like 0.5 of the second… it just bugs the hell out of me . And yes it only happens in raid for some reason…
Hello dear friend - I will try to explain a little bit about what I suspect the problem is.
I have a pretty good setup for wow (cpu could be better) : i5-10600k OC @5Ghz, rtx 3070 and 32GB of ddr4 ram @3200MHz. Not the best but its fine.
So after some time playing the game I was getting 70-80fps 0.1% lows in raids (for example when bombclasses bomb waves in Hyjal). This really frustrated me and took a hard hit on my love for raiding. A restart of the PC usually fixed this and I was getting ~120ish 0.1% lows for the same pulls.
I tried changing different settings and tinkering around with my OC but this one program changed everything for me:
“Inelligent standby list cleaner”
Apparently the system RAM gets clogged up after system start constantly by the browser/discord and the game. After I drop below 16GB RAM, I notice that fps 0.1% lows drop about 20-40 fps, depending on the situation. This tool allows you to clean your RAM of unnecessary usage.
I configured it to automatically clean RAM when I drop below 20GB of usable RAM and since then my fps always stays stable during the raid. I will leave it up to you to configure the tool properly (there is a video on youtube about “how to increase fps in shadowlands raids”, where the configuration is explained in the last 15% of the video. Alternatively you can tab out every 15-30 min and click on “purge standby list”.
When not running the tool it showed me that the RAM clogging puts my available RAM down to 12 GB sometimes and after I purge it, it goes up to 24GB (I am running chrome with 10-15 tabs open as well as discord and some other background programms).
WOW is a very CPU heavy game and I suspect that the clogged RAM is taking a strain on CPU performance but it’s just an assumption. For me this worked wonders.
I hope this can help you reduce fps lows in “spammy” situations during raids. Would love to hear some feedback from people who try this.
EDIT: By “stable during the raid” I mean it is always as good or bad as it is after the restart of the PC. It doesn’t mean that it doesn’t drop from 180 fps on idle (that’s where I capped it for thermal reasons) to 120 during heavy bombing. It means that it doesnt deteriorate after the system is running for a bit to 80 fps during heavy bombing. Thus, this isn’t a tool to “increase your fps” but rather to keep the fps that your system should be able to pump at a constant rate (as good or bad as the system, especially the CPU and RAM, allows).
Can this method I described get some more attention please?
