OOC on AD?

Hi there.
I play on different server usually and only come to AD for Roleplay and don’t do any content on my AD chars.
Recently my usual guild disbanded which led to most of my wow friends quitting.
Since I like to RP I am thinking of fully moving to AD. Are there guilds that do both RP and ooc content? Or will I only have option to PuG/ find cross realm community?

There are lots of guilds who do OOC content next to roleplay, so I do not think you would have a problem there. Just have to be clear in your search of both of those things when you look around for the right one. Guilds tend to make note of this on their forum threads / guild finder ads / Argent Archives pages, so it should just be a matter of finding a guild whose themes interest you, and go from there. “Worst” case scenario, I’m sure guild officers don’t mind being asked about their guilds’ policies on OOC content.

General rule of thumb is to be mindful and respectful of people who are in-character and not disturb ongoing roleplay, so as long as that’s adhered to, occasional OOC stuff is really not a problem by any means anyways.

Hope you enjoy your stay on AD, and find a guild you’re comfortable in!

I don’t think any RPer will have a problem with you doing content with your RP character i say judging by the Rio scores of the people at the recent tournament event.

Thanks!
Glad to hear that way one looks for guilds did not change since I last tried. I will have a look at the guilds once I figure out the char I plan to RP, since I do not want to RP my usual DK or DH char.

Yeah. As someone who knows how annoying it is to be at the recieving end of this, there is no way I would do this.

And yes, I did not think anyone would have problem with me doing ooc content. For me it was more about seeing if I can find give or take stable group that is not just randoms.

Guess I will have to figure out a char and look around when SW sharding is gone since I got no clue what state RP is in outside of casual random SW RP

I don’t think anybody worth listening to would object.

I remember a few years ago there were some people that insist you keep your “content characters” (whatever that even means) on another server, but it all just comes across as a bit snobby and overly protective of the server.

You’re probably best off just pugging or joining one of the OOCer guilds. I’ve never had success finding more than a handful of people in an RP guild that are even interested in content.

Oh yes. I remember that “popular opinion” from years back. I did not pay much attention since most chars I did content on were on different realm anyway.

But I will try to come back. I had this concept of former defias recently released from stockades and trying to figure out new world in my head for a bit. I will make him warrior instead of rogue and that way I will have easier time pugging if I have no luck finding people.

I know several people who do RP as well as content, myself included. I regularly do M+ and rated PvP, albeit on my own these days. However there are no shortage of RP guilds with members that also like playing the game.

It’s a place to roleplay and do game content, but with an emphasis on roleplay. Obviously I don’t think I need to talk about mindfulness around roleplaying, but I personally always try to make sure I am not disrupting anything when doing game content.

There are. But you can also just join a community or run with friends. I personally use exclusively the LFG tool and rarely play with friends/guild members because they usually tend to be too busy with other stuff.
