We all know that the main discovery in SoD is the discovery by the devs of what works and what does not. 95%+ of all the new “discovery content” is found and known 2 days into the phase or even datamined before the release. There is no point in keeping this secrecy thing.
Most of the current problems, from poor STV event design decisions and total PvP imbalance to people leaving the game left and right and multiple other issues could have been detected and worked on if there had been a normal open beta. Please do an open beta for the upcoming phases.
A lot of the issues could have been addressed had they had a PTR or open beta a month in advance, the fact that we’re in this position that we’re in with so many criticisms of every niggling little aspect of SoD is because of that lack of PTR.
The thing that boggles my mind however is that we are essentially IN the PTR right now and no matter how sensible of a criticism of a problem nothing gets done with it. And if it is touched then usually no one is satisfied with it; Why, because it isn’t about minor tuning, it’s about a hammer to the nail solution that is meant to be permanent.
So either things don’t get touched (hunter runes needing an overhaul since P1) or it is touched and gets mangled by a manic dev with a hammer.
They ABSOLUTELY need a PTR going forward for a minimum of 1 month and honestly, I don’t think that P3 should release at all until they fix the problems people have had since P1. And no, “it will get better in bla bla” is a non argument. I am playing the game ‘now’ I shouldn’t have to wait for months or half a year for things to reach a point of stability.
