By difficulty you mean increase the scaled healthpool of the mobs so it takes longer to kill them. You have a very odd understanding of enjoyment. I would have thought a better way would be to create actual gameplay that was difficult. The creators already said they were keen this time to shorten the campaign process so people could get to end game content quicker. So I’m guessing they aint gonna change anything.
Personally I don’t level by questing or campaign or even killing stuff so I wouldn’t notice the difference. And your gear score is 573 higher than mine. So funny. There are ways of making the process a little more fruity… just use your imagination.
And no levelling has never been hard. This game is all about the grind and the amount of time you want to sink into it. The game is a subscription model and so time is all they sell.
If there was a “hardmode” or just harder overworld option, that the player could switch to in similar ways to Warmode, and it granted additional rewards, would it be considered optional?
More difficult can also mean less room for mistakes, less chances to stay idle without being attacked, having to position yourself correctly to avoid attracking extra enemies, less chances to use “oh crap!” abilities, and content design that makes use of non-damage abilities have a massive impact on how “easy or difficulty” content is.
Just like in the old times…
Maybe you don’t know but the challenge is the m+ and mythic raids.
It would be optional, but I wouldn’t like or want it as you described it.
“granted additional rewards” is what I have an issue with.
Some people keep saying they like and want challenging world content.
Let them prove it. Have it harder, for the same rewards. See if they really want a challenge.
WoW doesn’t need to be Elden Ring or Dark Souls in open world. I want to relax while questing. Your harder content modes are already in the game. Please don’t ruin my relaxing open world content.
I will outright say that if there were a harder mode that also implied slower to earn the same rewards, then I wouldn’t engage in it.
Hard does not mean “requires lightning-fast reflexes”. This is a common misconception.
That’s fair, but that also proves that you don’t actually want challenging content in and of itself.

It implies annoying damage sponges and annoying mechanics that you can already have access to in other harder content so maybe leave the content I mainly enjoy alone…
