Opinions on new hunter PvP talent in PTR

So just asking what is your opinion about new hunter PvP talent tranq darts.
On interrupt or dispel fire darts at up to 8 enemies reducing magic effects by 4 seconds.

Now this does not fix hunter problems in PvP but gives us a pretty big niche.
You can now reduce buff durations massively, in big teamfights and ruin resto druid heals 2 interrupts/ tran shots in 10 seconds fight will reduce buffs by a lot.

And that is not considering interrupting with ice trap explosive trap or scatter shot or hell even bursting shot.
With no internal cooldown as of yet as I have tested in 5 seconds I managed to completely purge 2 resto druid hots with tranq shot into counter shot into explosive trap and over duration of 1 minutes teamfight I did 9 interrupts/tranq shots= 36second buff duration reduction

The tooltip specifically says counter shot and tranquilizing shot. Those you mentioned above should not work.

Also tried it on the PTR a couple of days ago but the talent was not yet working.

I dont think in a teamfight this talent would be much of use since everyone has so many buffs, most of them are small 10ish second buffs which are used immedately anyways. But its a weird one.

Might be useful on arenas, maybe?

Probably yes. But in big teamfight if it reduces same person with more than one dart it could mess up people badly, expecialy mages and druids.
Plus if you use it during mage combust it dispels and lowers magic duration by 4 seconds which hase double chance to mess up combust or priest/warlock burst CDs

Oh yeah, I always try to dispell them but on this occasion I did now think about those burst cooldowns. It could actually mess with them just like you said.

What im wondering is, lets say there are 2 buffs on the target with 1 of them having 3 seconds left and the other has 9 seconds left.

If one of the darts actually target the effect with 3 seconds, does it move onto reducing 9 seconds to 8 seconds? Probably not. But wondering

I mean yeah it needs more testing but in perfect scenario of darts hitting same target more than once it becomes a nightmare I 2v2 and 3v3 and big annoyance in RBGs, that is if we didn’t need to take 2 mandatory PvP talents

Yeah. I’m usually picking survival tactics, scatter shot and trueshot mastery for RBGs for teamfights, but I switch trueshot mastery with roar of sacrifice if im defending a base. And I dont usually play arenas.

I might pick tranquilizing darts instead of trueshot mastery, maybe.

If you defend flag roar is neccesary or rogue will 1v1 you all the time every time. If not first try then when your CDs are gone( trinket etc.)
My surefire way to defend Vs rogue was 1 minute in Stealth and 1 minute with roar, then you go back to Stealth and you got turtle up for next time as well as PvP Trinkets.
You can drop survival tactics I guess if you run legendary?

Exactly what I do when I’m defending a base.

I’m not running that legendary, but I sometimes drop it too :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t really think it’s going to be THAT good in rbgs.
The range is 8 yd so it’s not really aoe unfortunally.

I tried it 5 minutes after the PTR patch came out and right now, working fine

Multiple darts can hit the same person meaning if used in 1v1 scenario the other player will lose 32 seconds of buffs combined.
Each dart reduces duration by 4 seconds and as such, if enemy say has 2* 15 second buffs both will be fully cleansed+ initial tranq shot purging a buff as well.
It is a nightmare for self buff classes and can purge a lot at once.
Well vs resto druid you can fully purge his Hots every 10 seconds

I might try it against a resto druid if I can find one on ptr then.

8 yards from me or from the enemy I cast it on? Maybe thats the reason I thought it didnt work

From what I tested, each dart can only reduce the duration of a buff once.

8 yd from the enemy

Yes, but all 8 darts can hit same target, meaning multiple reductions
