With the War Within prepatch coming next week which will give us events to do and allow us to catch up with gear, I think it would be very nice if we would be able to leave MoP Remix as an optional feature which every player may choose to do or not do themselves, with perhaps the only catch that you can’t return to the Remix with the character that you choose to end it with.
The reasoning behind this is that many people are already done with everything the Remix has to offer, and the prepatch does at least to me sound a lot more appealing than having an inactive Remix character I will not play until it officially ends.
I knew this was never going to happen as it would have been something that would have mentioned with the information about mop remix coming for people to play.
With the way they’ve designed the system, they do not want to have something in place, which will be put extra strain on the system when you have people transferring characters between the 2 different systems.
You also then have the very common situation, where people will start to spam tickets to blizzard say “oh no I transferred my character from remix to retail. I didn’t mean to do this, please fix it!!!”.
Having a script that will be started the moment remix ends to mass transfer all data over to retail is far easier for them to monitor. It’s not going to be instant due to amount of characters that have been created. They also need to make sure that the scripts are removing items correctly and that all jazz.
If people wanted to have a character from remix to retail done earlier… well there is this amazing thing called making a character on retail
Also if you want to gear up your remix character with the prepatch event items, well you can do this… you farm the event on a retail character, buy the items you want for that remix character and then transfer all that stuff too it, once the remix character has been moved over to retail… not a hard concept to grasp!
