Orc and Draenei Demon Hunters, please

I suggest these two races.

They’re both inherently familiar with Fel
Both have suffered mutations from it
Both a very likely to have a great deal of reasons for wanting to chase down every single demon and their collaborators, more so than the denizens of Azeroth in fact.

Fel Orcs are a thing = Red skin orcs with horn customization and blindfolds
Eredar are a thing = Red skin Draenei with extended horn options and blindfolds

Only issue I see is that Demon Hunters are kind of a finished chapter due to Sargeras being done for, but you can easily tie in the void with fel creatures. We’ve seen fel users resort to shadow/void many times before, I don’t think it’s farfetched that this would be the legion’s next plan, to fully commit to the void as an ally.

FWIW, the Rusty Legion exists in Hearthstone, Mechagnome Demon Hunters would be the perfect counterpart for them in WoW. Just putting that idea out there.

Why though? The Legion is defeated, a spent force, why would people want to become Demon Hunters these days if it is indeed as they keep banging on about “A Sacrifice”. Just saying, having a Demon in you and it doing nothing other than making you smug is not a sacrifice, especially when it gives you super ninjamatic powers and actual better eyesight than other people have despite the blindfold, and the ability to shoot lasers out of your eyes!

Seriously, what is the Demon Hunter’s problem? “I did a thing and got super powers, with no discernible drawbacks, Pity me!”

They need to get over themselves, bunch of sixth form whinging emo’s.

But yeah, I can’t see why anyone would want to become a Demon Hunter these days, and I can’t even see why the Demon Hunters themselves would be training new ones.

To spread the edge, of course.

Yes, but Sargeras is not dead, only imprisoned, so I wouldn’t write it off. See what happened to Illidan.

They can develop. You just need a bit of imagination is all. Some people would do almost anything for power and being a demon hunter is certainly one way to accomplish it, if you can survive the trials (from which a great deal of pride could come of it as well).

A demon hunter doesn’t have to hunt demons exclusively.
You could be a powerful mercenary, monster hunter, soldier.

Yeah the consequences could be immense, but that doesn’t stop people from becoming warlocks and it doesn’t stop warriors from training their whole life.
The demon hunter fantasy doesn’t have to be about its origin, only.

That’s just the lore part.
Visually, I think these two races would look absolutely amazing as demon hunters. In fact, far better than any elf ever could.

Whilst I think DHs are stuck in a “lore lol” due to their creation essentially circulating around the legion and the need to fight them as well as an elven groupie culture, i have to say I would absolutely love to play as Orc or Draenei DHs.

I played DH in Legion and Vengeance was such fun, but I left the character alone because ultimately I just don’t like playing elf characters, despite liking the class (in particular the tanking spec). So long as they are elf restricted I probably won’t play one.

Like I said in my reply to the other guy: What ought to stop them from developing them? Now more than ever, they need a new identity.

I love the idea, the only thing that stops me playing DH is that this class is not available for normal race.

I guess there is no strict reason why not, it’s just a bit “why now”?

For the record though I completely agree with you regarding why orcs and draenei would be suitable, they both have history with the legion. Also it’s give an option for bulkier DH races.

well, yeah I can’t argue anything in favor of now. It’s a missed opportunity with Shadowlands for sure.

Hello everyone. :grinning:

If it was to return, how would you like to see the Legion returning?

  • Sargeras breaking out of his imprisonment (maybe possessing Illidan).

  • The remaining forces of the Legion getting together and making an all-out attack.

  • An alternate Timeline / Counterpart where the Legion was victorious, took over Azeroth and you are summoned to fight it.

Or something different?

Maybe the need will arise again, Sargy isn’t dead after all and demons are still out there. I suspect we’ll learn this in SL. The Venthyr origins screams “Nathrezim plot” all over it.

I already hinted at something like the following, but direct co-operation with the void would be a much more deadly legion (and a poetic turn of events considering Sargeras’ crusade). Demons of WoW’s setting are a manifestation of chaos after all. I don’t see why they’d be forever loyal to Sargeras’ mission.

Sargeras breaking out, he needs to be a final boss of the expansion

Give us Vulpera Dhs and Vulpera Druids and Vulpera Paladins …

Sargeras clear, of his mind by the Pantheon and Illidan, fighting the Burning legion back, the Voidlord saw that their plan have failed, start a direct attack on the Pantheon.

10/10, masterful trolling.

Ilidan loosing his mind in this eternal cage, losing hus battle with his own mind, seting himself and sargeras free just for a little bit of life, once they are out sargeras drains ilidans life power to become even stronger and we can have TBC\Legion 2.5.

Didn’t Sargeras beat the pantheon by himself last time. We also handed the perfect host on a plate for him.
