When are we gonna get Orc paladins? Played some ESO for the first time a few days ago and I notcied that Orcs there could be Templars (which if you didn’t know it’s pretty much the same as the warcraft paladins) If Pandas now can be death knights in the new expansion I atleast want more new class and race combos (aka Orc Paladins)
I know that some lore nerds will disagree and say stuff like ‘‘Orcs don’t use the light’’ or ‘‘It isn’t part of their culture’’ The Races in the current lore are already less diverse and their cultures are shared thanks the unions called Horde and Alliance and on top of that the game doesn’t need to follow all lore rules all the time.
Thoughts?

Well I see that you are a monk? If orcs can embraze that lifestyle why can’t they be pallys?

Mag’har orcs made into paladins in the unlocking scenario, so who knows.
I wouldn’t be against it. I don’t play Night elves but people who do will probably like it if they got it.
Because the monk style is more Close to Shamans.

Here are some races where I think Paladin would work:
Pandaren
Worgen
Night Elf
These races either have a clear organised religion (Panda/Nelf) or do worship the Light proper (Worgen), and all have notions of honour and adhering to ideals over practicalities (which a Paladin generally embodies).
Orcs lack a clear organised religion. Now this is not to say that “the horde culture has diversified” however you must recognise that only Blood Elves worship the Light proper, and their light-worshipping faction is not their most loud and forward one. Other races in the Horde are either religiously ambiguous, spoken for (Zandalari) or shamanic.
So I don’t think it’s fine to suggest that “Orcs could have been taught by X” to be paladins, because there is not a strong single Paladin current in the Horde. Tauren SUnwalkers, Zandalari Prelates and Blood Knights all are different thematically.
In the alliance Human and Dwarves, and Draenei and LFD are very close in their Light philosophy - they all recognise The Light proper, share very similar teachings and virtues, thus teaching others in a “Paladin” way is quite believable.
With Horde, what kind of Paladin would Orcs be? Sunwalkers? Prelates? Blood Knights? It just seems a bit jarring. And as said, the race is not especially religious. They’re spiritual absolutely, but Paladins are religious- there is a significant difference in these two concepts.

Chi is your inner spirit, nothing to do with shaman spirits.
I would love more Paladin capable races but they are fairly limited in the game, more so on Horde than Alliance.

We will get Orc Paladins when Yrel will rebuild Dark Portal and casually step into Azeroth with her Lightbound army.

“Chi is a secondary resource used by monks. It is the pandaren word for “Spirit”, the same primal life force used by shamans to heal and to commune with elementals.”

You seem to talk about the ‘‘Lore’’ and the game doesn’t follow the lore 100 % exact currently. WoW is a game not a book.

And this game is an RPG, and I’d rather they keep the Little RPG aspects still present.
