I will never forget my the first time i saw Star Wars in a theater with my dad watching The Emipre Strikes back, aged 7, not really intrested in the actual movie, just hot and bothered as a kid wanting to go home and play with my toys…untill Darth Vader came on the screen and changed my perception of Sci-fi as a whole.
I’m sure most of the early writers of Wow including Chris Metzen and Christie Golden where influenced by Star Wars characters such as Darth Vader.

As Vader first strides onto the Rebel ship and you hear James Earl Jones, it was his voice that set the scene for the whole saga for me. I saw some footage voiced by David Prowse (without effects tbf) and it was nowhere near as good.

RIP. But his voice will carry on. He gave permission in 2022 to use his voice for future Darth Vader performances through archival material and AI.
