Yes, probably another topic like this. What other classes would work for Drakthyr?
First to get two things out of the way. How would it work? Pretty much like it does with Evoker. Unlike other races, Drakthyr of any class start at level 58 with only one or two abilities, and they unlock the others while playing the Forbidden Reach. Classes that don’t have a healing spec gain a bandage to use for healing quests.
What abilities would they have? Pretty much the other races, abilities that are counted as racial would be available to all classes. So Drakthyr of any class would have access to Tail Swipe, Wing Buffet, Glide, Visage and of course Soar. However abilities that are logically Drakthyr racial, but are counted as Evoker abilities (like Hover, Fly me to the Rescue, Quell, Zephyr) wouldn’t be available to the Drakthyr of any other class.
So what classes would be available to the Drakthyr?
Definitely:
Warrior - They were created to be soldiers, and Warrior is pretty much a generic melee foot soldier.
Hunter - Same as Warrior, Hunters can be considered generic ranged foot soldiers.
Rogue - Some of them were created to spy and gather information for Deathwing.
Mage - Class related to the Blue Dragonflight and Evoker by extent.
Druid - Class closely related to the Green Dragonflight and Evoker by extent.
Maybe:
Shaman - Class somewhat related to the Black Dragonflight.
Priest - Would make sense if some of them thought wielding the powers of Light and Void to aid in that way.
Paladin - More no than maybe, cause they had absolutely no contact with the Paladin orders, but neither did the Draenei, so… if some used to wield the power of the Light, why not a Paladin too.
No:
Warlock - They were put in stasis before the Legion showed up, so they had no contact with Demons and demonic stuff.
Demon Hunter - Had no contact with Legion, were put in stasis long before Illidan was borne, and awakened only after he’s been neutralized.
Death Knight - Had no contact with the Scourge or the Lich King, put in stasis way before all of that was created, awakened only after they’ve been neutralized in Shadowlands.
Monk - Had no contact with the August Celestials or the teachings of Pandaria, wouldn’t be able to learn it while in stasis.
Forbidden reach was their introduction, now their In Faction capitals. its fine?.
all the Drakthyrs on forbidden reach are Evokers, which means them being new classes would need to happen Later on, given they’d of never been put in Stasis, it makes 0 sense to why they’d start there?
or just do what they did for all other hero reduce evoker to 10 and forbidden reach with it?
Rather than dracthyr having additional classes already, I’d prefer to see them learn to become other classes through their interactions with the peoples of Azeroth. In the case of your example of monk, I don’t see any reason why a dracthyr couldn’t decide to travel to Pandaria to seek the teachings of pandaren monks.
Not that I’m particularly suggesting monk as a class for dracthyr, just giving an example of how the end of their isolation and their contact with other people might lead them to want to learn and discover new things.
nope, they’d just start on the boat like every other base class to go through their class training in this case, assuming that they were all evokers initially and are branching out into new fields instead.
i agree with these. They could take the form of various animals in the Dragon isles as druids too.
Ehh. Not that conviced by this one. Shamans are wileding the power of the earth, but not all the powers.
i feel this would be more a no. they have no connection to the light or void, yet it’s way better to have this instead of:
Draeneis didn’t come in contact with the Paladin Orders, but they were in contact with the Naa’ru’s, litteral beings of light, so it makes sense for draeneis to have learnt to be paladins. But evokers have no strong connection with the light itself.

Since the goal is to make all classes available for all races, there is really no need to speculate which ones fit right now. IMO no other class “really” fits Dracthyr, but since this is an mmorpg, nothing really stops a Dracthyr from going whichever way they choose. Same for every other race really.
