Outlaw bug

Today I finally noticed that “Hidden Opportunity” Ambush build doesn’t work properly.
Experimented a bit with the rotation on a training dummy with the following setup:

  • I took both “stratagems” in order to get 7 max combo points;
  • took a point out of Ruthlessness, so that I specifically don’t get CPs from finishers;
  • took a point in Improved Ambush, so that it generates 3 CPs per use;
  • didn’t use Roll the Bones for the entirety of experiment;
  • just spammed Ambushes and used a finisher after each one in order to let Ambush fill an empty CP bar each time.

So when the Opportunity proc doesn’t go off - everything proceeds accordingly to the tooltip: singular Ambush just gives you 3 CPs as the Improved Ambush should.

However, when it does indeed double up, everything stops making sense:
after the animation for the first Ambush resolves, you get 5 CPs (where did this number even come from???), and after the second Ambush resolves you get remaining 2 CPs that fill up your CP bar to full (7 CPs in a single Opportunity proc for Ambush), while it should give you only 6 total (3 for each strike) without interference of any other buffs.

And while we are at it, why the hell “Triple Threat” does not synergize with “Hidden Opportunity” and affects Sinister Strike only, that you don’t even use, so you are forced into wasting 2 talent points just to access the latter talent?

Seems like worth reporting these as bugs.

Well, this has to do with the fact that all Rogue Talent Trees are poorly designed. There’s numerous dead Talents you are forced to pick, very little choice due to nonexistent pathing. They just slapped a new coat of paint on the old car, and hoped nobody would notice.
