Rogue is currently performing well but it’s a very high skill ceiling class.
Assassination st is not too difficult, but aoe is complicated, with applying dots, lining up mechanics for deathmark etc…
Outlaw rogue suffers from a few badly made mechanics, like crackshot not resetting the cd on between the eyes when you enter stealth, which makes the spec exponentially harder considering that no crackshot is not an option. They also screwed up with the removal of dreadblades which made the spec both less forgiving to play, and made the difference between crackshot and no crackshot builds even larger. In short, outlaw is very complex, and it’s basically impossible to play without weak auras, there is a lot of potential, but they screwed up some important decisions with design and it made the spec way harder to play than it has to be, or should be. As outlaw if you are not running crackshot you basically go from one of the top damage specs to one of the worst. It’s just not an option.
Subtlety rogue is also not particularly easy to play, but out of the 3 i personally have the least trouble with it. If there is an issue with sub is low sustained aoe.
In short, rogue is not easy to play.
I was originally very satisfied with the rework, but after trying it for a while i have to say that i found out some significant design problems which make the spec more complex to play than it has to be.
Examples:
1: slice and dice is not good and should be removed, or made passive, this is a bad thing for all 3 specs.
Outlaw:
1: Count the odds proc rate is too low which makes kir an already complex spell to play, even more difficult while also delaying the usage way too much due to lack of procs
2: Crackshot not resetting bte when entering stealth this also serves no purpose other than making the spec more difficult to play than it has to be
3: Dreadblades removal made the spec less forgiving to play, aside just removing a really cool button, which could have easily been baked into another spell like adrenaline rush.
4: Energy regen has been overnerfed which makes unoptimal play even less forgiving, if you screw up your adrenaline rush uptime that’s a big problem not just because you’re ouside your cd, but also because you’ll likely soon run out of energy.
Assassination
1: caustic splatter should work on fan of knives, it overcomplicates the aoe rotation for no reason. Why do i have to mutilate every 10 seconds exactly?
2: Indiscriminate carnage should not be a capstone, and frankly speaking i think it would work better as a shadow crash like ability with around a 25/30 sec cd.
Sub rogue:
1: Sustain aoe is bad.
2: Add an audio cue when you get your maximum number of combo points stored with shadow tech.
That’s honesty about it for sub, i don’t find it too complex to play.
