yep my outline mode isnt working either with or without addons since update this week.

Edit - played around - Multisample anti aliasing is now removing outline mode for me…that needs a fix

Who knew an untested patch could break the game in so many ways!?

The Quest Objects not outlined as it was previously exist before the patch even if Graphic Outline Mode setting set on High.

There’s another thread for that issue here: Outline Mode

I do not want to enter plunder because the settings are constantly being reset. There’s nothing better than Blizzard to shoot yourself in the foot.

Yes this is somehow tied to Anti-Aliasing.

Just go to Options > System/Graphics > Anti-Aliasing

Turn off Multisample Techniques

(this is why you PTR your s#!t blizz)

EDIT:

So turns out it’s different for different people. Friend with AMD card (I’m Nvid) had to screw with slightly different setting (still Anti-aliasing) to get outlines back. So just faff with your AA setting until you see the screen kinda ‘blink’. Once you have your outlines back you can turn stuff back on again and apply (until it nukes your outlines ofc). Good luck.

I to am impacted by this issue. Since 10.2.6 released the outline on objectives is missing but turning outline mode off does make the “sparkles” appear.

I did try Roq’s suggestions (thanks BTW) and switching from Advanced to Image based settings restored the outline albiet the cost of a slight loss of quality.

Outline mode functionality seems to be reversed . Turning it off actually makes things shine and pop out again , including the sparks.

Turning it on , nothing .

It has nothing to do with Anti aliasing or whatever el duderino above me said , the setting just seems reversed.

Setting Anti-Aliasing from my current Multisampling Techniques from off then back on fixes it but choosing any of the sub techniques options (color 2x 4x 8x) makes the outlines disappear again.

Plus when I log back into the game next time for some reason Anti-Aliasing is totally disabled.

I had the same problem and tried the anti-alias settings below, which did nothing for me, but i found this article which said to edit a file and add it in there. I did this and it worked, amazingly.

If you do not see glowing purple chests, instead just some glowing bubbles try this:
Exit wow:
Check:
C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft_retail_\WTF\Account\AccountName\config-cache.wtf
Ensure you have the following level set for Outline:
SET Outline “1”

I have found even though sometimes in the interface it was “set” to outline level this value didnt get properly updated and so i had one account with it “0” and could NOT see glowing purple chests, and in another account i had it set to “1” and could see glowing purple chests.

After ensuring it was flipped to 1 suddenly, i was able to see glowing purple chests on both accounts.

CMAA works MSAA doesnt. if you struggling take AA off and it will come back until they fix it.

I wonder if Outline Mode bug is related with Demon Hunter Spectral Sight client crash bug. Becouse when you turn off Outline Mode completly game will not crash after using Spectral Sight.

Guys!
Options > Graphichs > Antialising - Set it to Image-Based and things outlines work again

MSAA breaks it, yes.
