Overall it was a much needed and long overdue systems overhaul. If they keep it up they might eventually recover from the twin catastrophe that were BFA and Shadowlands. However devs do please stop with the damned elemental storms and rare trains.
But otherwise the expansion has been pretty good.
And the 2 month turn around for new content means we did not have to suffer through zaralek for too long which is a huge advantage this expansion has over others.
I liked it initially but now after augmentation evoker I’m starting to not like it.
Like, I’m queuing for 17-18 keys on alts and people are like “WE NEED AUG”. No, we don’t, it’s 17-18 keys, not 28 keys. Then someone leaves when we don’t have an augmentation evoker. So dumb.
I hate to be this guy but “world content” is a side content between real end game content. It’s something you can do in spare time when waiting in queue or whatever.
The meat and core of the game is and will always be instanced raiding and pvp - the rest is ultimately meaningless. If someone plays this game for outdoor content I feel sorry for them but they are missing the point.
Sure, WoW provides some entertainment for all kinds of players but it’s mostly about instanced endgame content. Don’t forget that.
you can disagree and I won’t convince you but…
Blizzard organizes all kind of events and esport competition in instanced pvp and pve.
Meanwhile I’m yet to see a Blizzard event for let’s say “first to kill all the rares in the new zone” or “first to win all family battler pet battles” online events xD
Outdoor content is just ultimately menaingless…
Augmentation evokers really ruined the “value” of the hero achievement I think. Everyone and their grandmother can get hero achievement now. A pvper has to be like a top 50-100 solo shuffle player for their in entire EU to get this achievement. A raider has to kill mythic sarkareth, which is way way harder than timing a +20 for sure. It’s on another dimension of hard than timing a +20. Not saying I want “perfect balance”, but this doesn’t really feel right at all. They should raise the hero achievement rating for M+ to 3k, or lower the requirements for other content, because currently it’s unfair and it pushes people into M+, even if it’s not really that fun content.
We do get plenty of achievements to do from open world content though. It’s obviously not going to be competitive. But I don’t think open world stuff should be either. It’s meant to be casual.
I liked mission tables overal.
I like having some systems to explore and play with (but they have to be FUN).
I don’t care about alts.
Upgradeable gear isn’t fun imo; at least not the way they implemented it now.
My issue with it is this: To be able to upgrade my gear to the maximum ilvl I can attain through the content I do, I have to raid. It’s LFR, sure, but it’s still raiding. I don’t want to raid for gear; if I did, I would be RAIDING.
For certain types of players; yes they did.
For other types of players; it’s not good.
it was an annoying chore, waste of time, completely unfun - free welfare for bad players, necessary to progress in game, inflating gold… only problems, nothing good out of it
Mission tables never made sense to me, picking some followers to go out and coming back sometimes as much as 24 hours later to learn what you got, isn’t game play. If I wanted to project manage, I’d of become a project manager.
