Anyone else having excessive cpu usage with SoD? I can run classic era on firemaw at max with no problem even in city when it’s lagging out everyone, but in sod i get the fans going airplane mode everytime the game is in focus lol, even in empty zones, not even retail does this. I already disabled all addons and it didn’t fix the problem. Anyone else had this happen?

What potato PC are you running that your CPU overheats playing Classic WoW
I mean it runs retail massive m+ pulls fine kek, but it’s fairly old, 2080 rtx, 16gb ram ddr4, i7 6700k, game is on ssd. All is on max, as i never had any problem with classic era or retail…
This isn’t normal. My PC is weaker and has no issues. Are you limiting your FPS?
For some reason my PC works better if i do default setings .
Dont ask me why, it make sense that it will run better on default than high/max, but it runs better on default than on mid .
Try that perhaps, and then change setings one by one and see if there isnt one thats causing issues.
Other than that idk, u tried some cpu tests to see if everything is down there ?
I think what you describe makes sense, the general idea is some games just cannot support high end systems.
Vanilla is something thsat never gave problems over the years though but SoD must be slighly changed.
Optimization issue on Blizzard’s end I would say.
finally i can be helpful! you need to check your settings - graphics -tick all fps and whatever you want the numbers to be.
mine are:
foreground 60
background 30
target 60

I’ll try default settings i guess see if that changes anything. How would you test cpu? Other games don’t have the issue i’d say, vermintide2 runs fine.
Could be optimization on blizzard’s end but i seem to be the only one with the problem lol.
I already set those, to 141 30 and 60, though the fans do go quiet again when i’m alt tabbed. Setting fps lower might fix it but i’d rather figure what tf is causing the fan noise, i’ll try other stuff first…

My first trip to ST my Radeon RX 6750 XT Dual OC died(some restarts and cooldown time later it started working normaly again), after that i limited it to 100fps and never happened again.
Try cleaning your PC. Inside I mean as dust makes for noisy fans.

One core is at 100%, rest chillin at 20-40%.
