Overtuned as hell

I did mage tower when it was current content on all my classes, and it wasn’t this bad. I think the issue is that mobs have way more hp than intended.

Here’s a clear example:

I tried it on aff lock and my dots couldn’t kill the thing from beyond. One cast can be interrupted by the fel hunter, second cast can be soaked (left at 10% hp), 3rd cast = dead.

By that 3rd cast, my dots got the thing from beyond down to half hp… All while running to avoid Karam and the other slow moving mobs.

Back in Legion it didn’t take this long, by its second cast my dots would melt it.

How is this not overtuned?

You probably had way more gear than “intended” if you did it on all your classes.

What exactly were you hoping for here? To tick em all off in an hour or two and whine theres nothing to do?

Well yeah, since I’ve already done it on aff lock, spriest, balance druid and I don’t remember which others.

You think I should spend months trying this recycled content again?

I didn’t say that. But more than an hour or two before bursting into tears in public would be a good compromise.

The issue is that you can’t dps fast enough the one-shot mechanics, and you have no means to avoid them.

There are some scaling issue. Here’s another one:

Raest has 200k hp for affliction and 120k for the other specs.
This definitely hasn’t been properly tested on the ptr.

What would you consider a reasonable amount of time then?
Something that respects the player’s time.

I like hard content, as long as it takes it fine by me. Is your time being respected humping world quest mobs that couldn’t kill you if you went afk?

We have different ideas of whats fun in game but I’ll remind you they are called “mage tower challenges”. Not mage tower go in and collect loots.

I would agree with you if the rewards were unique and not some reskins.

It doesn’t make any sense to be harder than it was in Legion, like this.

Either lower the difficulty, or give unique rewards, like new artifact skins or new item sets.

HP and DMG feels same-ish, however back then less abilities were on gcd :grimacing:

Well, that would be a much better and much more succesful thing.
Without all the drama its causing. Just like the original caused plenty of drama.

Well, okay, that’s not true. People don’t want a BIG challenge. People want a small challenge. Just enough to make them feel good about themselves.

OR it should have been implemented with 2 modes:

Normal - rewards the reskinned item sets.

Hardcore - rewards either the old artifact skins or new ones.

Seem plenty of people saying they are having a blast. They are ingame, its just the vocal squealy lot here crying.

is it really harder than it was in legion? what are the rewards now? if its the same 5 year old skins then what is the point other than ego stroking?

Yes. At least for holy priests.

No idea about guardian, I never did it back in Legion as guardian and I’m not finding it to be that hard right now.
