Pacing - overdone

hi all!

i’ve been playing wow since 2nd year it came out.
no, i do not suffer from “classic nostalgia”, nor do i miss it.

this topic is about “pacing” - some of you playing to farm your sentinax marks (needed for “Breaching the Tomb” class achievement), may have noticed how difficult is to obtain either beacon or marks.

if for beacons is easier via those massive rares, marks are insaly hard to come by.

having wasted over 4 hrs (!!!), of either solo or group farming portals and barely getting a few beacons and ZERO - thats right, zero ! - marks rigt under the ship (including killing 5 elites from portals!), i was utterly dissapointed, so i took to googling.

it turns out that some time ago (sometimes in early 2017), Blizz implemented a severe nerf to marks of sentinax drop to… “pace the content”.

CONCLUSION 1) before people start yelling “but classic had difficult drops too”, i ll remind them not everyone is crazy about classic nightmarish drop rates on same items! (read at the beggining)

CONCLUSION 2) also, before yelling the retarded line “lolz l0ser you want everything on a silver platter”, someone needs to remind those no-lifers in their moms basement, a few things:

  • those drops are part of a larger scheme of achiements that is quite long in itself allready ( + timegating)
  • its a GAME, not a job! one shouldnt need a full time job for some friggin’ random quest items !!!

Blizz went overboard with “pacing”, by making some things - that arent even special items i.e. mounts or epic weapons etc - have insanely low drop rates !

They need to do something - ideally, revert the sentinax marks drop.
If not, then implement SOME way to get them faster!

Also, dont bother to suggest "look for a group in LFG’ - i did!
3 DAYS IN A ROW - nothing - not 1 group!

i had to start my own and…still no marks !

By all definitions in WoW, mounts, pets, toys ect (cosmetics) are all “special” items. Some are very rare and covet, and others are more accessible and not rare at all.

As for the rest of what you said, those quests might be changed at a much later date given Legion will be considered legacy content. Right now it has only just ended.

That was my question - why was the sentinax mark drop rate, nerfed so hard ?!

Was it due to those stupid shards ?! Fine, nerf shard drops instead!

But the sentinax mark itself is a crap, ordinary, quest item - no different that a lvl 1 quest item (bring me 10 pigs a$$) … !

So why was an ordinary quest item drop nerfed so hardcore ?!

“Pacing the content” is NOT a rational answer one would expect from a blue post (yes, it was a blue post i saw on that wowhead forum chat)

All legion quests need a rework to make it easier for alts…it’s not current content and awards literally nothing.

Find someone with greater sentinax crystals, you will be done in 2 summons or so.

I find it difficult to believe you got no marks at all. I did it by myself last month, which you’ll probably notice is not 2017, and had no trouble whatsoever. Yeah it was slow… but not THAT slow.

I can only conclude you’re doing something wrong, like farming in a raid group. Either that or you’re insanely unlucky, which I doubt, tbh.

And quit foreshadowing what people are gonna say, they never do.

Yes it doesn’t take me that long at all, make sure you aren’t in a raid. Have a friend with any spare beacons? Always save the beacons!

I managed all 12 classes mostly solo when the content was relevant and didn’t find any of them slow tbh. The only one a did a group for was my priest (the last of the 12) coz I couldn’t be bothered by that stage.

Maybe I just got lucky.

I did foreshadowed, because i was told exactly those lines many times:

  • “but…but…classic and low drop rates”
    and
    -“quit expecting stuff on a silver plate”

Also, i was NOT in a raid group…standard 4 men group (never needed a tank, mobs are killable even by a shammy caster including the elites from portals)

I just did it a few days ago on an alt. Solo because no groups and didn’t feel like making one either. I took a break halfway though because I got frutrated.
When I started the sentinax was in the middle of BS where all the spirits are and they barely drop beacons. When I continued a day later I found the sentinax hovering over broken valley (vengeance point flightpath) and the mobs there dropped way more beacons.
I read the naga east of the tomb also drop beacons more often though I haven’t tried that myself.
It would be amazing if Blizzard could make us do more of these quests at the same time, or swap around the mark one with the elites one so you organically get beacons.

This everyone, is why this game is becoming unfun, people who don’t get the things they want start to hurl insults and REEEE at the top of their lungs to prove their point against people who disagree, which leads to blizzard trying to satisfy both which leads to both not being satisfied.
