For me, Dragonflight seems to be the expansion with the most pack junk. There is an extreme amount of items you need to carry around with you due to some form of random currency, as well as the huge amount of profession items from the new 3 grade system.
For the love of god Blizz, create a better system.
A tab for quest items, that uses zero pack space is something other MMOs have been doing for years.
In addition ANYTHING that is regarded as currency should be placed into the currency tab, which should be part of the pack system, because at present, some things go in to the currency tab and other things just take pack space, so there is no clear cut rule as to what is currency and what isn’t.
Nothing new.
I remember reading about how much stuff people had in their bags, from SL quests and currency.
In BFA it was the Mechagnome junk, people kept getting.
TBF they added an additional reagent bag this expansion.
Sorting stuff out of the bags is part of the “keeping players busy” category 
I think when it’s done once, it can be called: “not intended”, twice it’s intentional, three times it’s just “Working as intended”.
