Just got on 10.1 PTR, and noticed that our hero talent no longer provides healing, but instead has a minor “10% dmg reduction for 6 sec, every 2min”… Such a minor defensive talent, that it might as well not be there.
Am I missing something else they added in as a replacement? Or did Pack Leader Hunters just get MASSIVELY nerfed in self-healing?
You sure it is a nerf?
Current talent reads:
Aspect of the Turtle, Survival of the Fittest, and Mend Pet heal the target for 20% of maximum health over 4 sec. Duration increased by 1 sec when healing a target under 50% maximum health.
So when you do use Turtle or survival of the fittest you get a 20% heal that ticks over 4seconds. (that is 5% per second)
At least in PvE the heal on Turtle is almost never usefull.
and survival of the fittest when you use it you normally have hp as you are using it to take a blow so it is often not usefull here either.
The new one Shell Cover
When dropping below 40% health, summon the aid of a Turtle, reducing the damage you take by 10% for 6 sec.
This effect can only occur once every 2 min.
When it procs will always be usefull (if it works like i am reading it)
1000% it’s a nerf to self-healing… Especially in PvP which I mostly do.
We are loosing that 20% heal every time we press SotF (which we have 2 charges of) or Turtle. That’s 60% healing in total. And 5% healing per second is A LOT, while at the same time we are benefitting from the 30% damage reduction from defensives.
All of those effects stacking, makes us VERY hard to kill, when pressing any of those defensives.
And because the healing is percentage based, we can increase it even further using trinket or pet abilities.
Instead of all of that, we just get a 6sec 10% dmg reduction every 2 min… When we have 4 different dmg reduction spells already (in PvP)… And only ONE healing spell.
It’s essentially like saying “let’s remove Shield of Vengeance from paladins, and give them a passive 10% dmg reduction every 2min instead”… Actually, that’s a pretty weak comparisons, since Hunter’s are now loosing A LOT more than that.
Well… So is the current “healing version” I’d even say that we have more control over WHEN, since it doesn’t just proc passively outside of our control.
In pvp sure but who cares about pvp it sucks to play pvp in wow.
This assumes you are getting the Effective heal to happen that is rarely the case.
It is also nerfed in PVP btw so you aren’t getting that amount of healing out of it in the first place.
Have some empathy mate.
Yes in PvE it is hardly noticeable, but in PvP this change is diabolical. It is a MASSIVE nerf. You should not just brush somethiing off because it is not your preferred game mode. I’m sure you would be raging if it was something that affected your M+.
