Itâs one of those things I really miss from Star Wars Galaxies, being able to roll a different class for your character.
You still had to re-level the class but you would still be the same character. I guess it was the reason why I never had more than 3 characters in that game.
Do I want a paid version? Not really, not with Blizzardâs pricing. But I wouldnât be too upset if they added it to the other services. Iâd rather be able to do it for free and work for it though.
Nay.
Either have characters locked to classes or allow them to freely switch like ESO and such where itâs based on your weapons and armor type.
Paid class change is the worst of both systems sewn together by a pay wall.

Tbf, Iâve never felt that levelling to cap ever does anything for class knowledge.
Even Threads of Fate 50-60 didnât really teach me anything.
Itâs not until I step into a dungeon/raid/battleground at 60 that I actually start learning what my buttons do.
Admittedly swapping from doing M+14s on one class to another would probably be bad.
the only real difference between this and a character boost is 10 levels.
tbh, it takes a few hours to get from 1-60 nowadays. Those 1-60 levels are important for learning the class that you are playing.
Not really, thereâs more tied to a character than just their level⌠such as Rep, items, quest progression, etc etc etcâŚ

I wouldnât be against it.
But I would like to see some serious limitations on it.
For example:
- Only once per year (or maybe even only once per expansion).
- Unlocked class-specific content (like class-mount) is lost and replaced by the equivalent of the new class.
No thanks, we have already too many FOTM people rerolling. No need to make it easier.
No, I donât think class changes are needed. Account wide reputation / renown etc. would achive the same thing; after grinding a âcurrencyâ on one class, you donât need to redo it, if you want to switch your main (or simply play an alt).
That is a very good point! And worth a discussion.
But I would still say âNoâ. Progression and Items should be tied to Character. If you have changed your mind and want to play a different class, just roll a new character. The whole concept of a paid Class changing is a pathetic idea.
But Rep⌠or the rep rewards should be Bind to Account rather than BoP.
One of the things I love about FF14 is being able to change your job(class). You still need to level it up, and acquire gear for it⌠but you could do everything with your character.
It would make Blizz a fortune every time the FOTM changed.
Mmm sometimes I wish so but ultimately I think no. Iâd love to multiclass though.
How would they get converted to your transmog tab or would they be lost altogether?
Probably neither, itâs account wide anyway.
Come on, manâŚ
Whatâs next? Paid game change?
Youâll pay Blizz to start playing Final Fantasy 14.
I prefer to have them as sepperate characters.
Iâd pay for gear at the cash shop tho, so i can catch up any class to the same gear level as the main tho.
I prefer the way itâs handled in ffxiv - having 1 character being able to have every job.
