I miss the simple pursuit of justice with the option to judge for speed limit on the others…
Same i remember using it in pvp. Good times.
The steed exists as an acknowlegment that blizzard screwwed up on class design, because class A can move 200yds in 10 seconds class B now needs to be able to keep up… but then class C needs something to keep up, which in turn needs class D to be able to keep up…
Rather than just nerfing class A into the ground they essentially end up ruining every other class because they all end up being balanced around the fact that this one class A is doing something it should not be allowed to do.
The prime example here would be demon hunters.
And instead of putting the things that countered this back into the game such as judgement of justice, they just keep adding more and more unnecesary mobility and then having to account for that mobility when balancing the class that shouldn’t even have it in the first place…
I think the Holy Power system is bad for ret because its HP generators are on cd (cs 6sec / judgment 12 sec / boj 11 sec baseline).
How this kind of system can work efficiently like this ?
Look at the rogue it has the same cp system but with no cd on its generator and it even has procs to help (energy back / free generator / cp after a finishing move).
Don’t get me wrong I don’t want Blizzard remove our HP generator cooldowns.
I want Holy Power to be changed for something else (ideally I would love a combat design like warrior priest from warhammer online age of reckoning but I know I’m dreaming).
Also the problem is that Paladins were taught the holy arts to fight the plague, zombie and demons, with spell that worked only against those, and it’s something completly gone from the game.
Personally i think is time for a rework even on the fantasy side. Without a dedicated enemy isn’t time to accept that paladins may evolve into something else? Like more melee combat dropping part of the holy, or more holy dropping part of the melee?
%100 aggreed with the OP. Paladin just does NOT feel like a plate wearer.Especially animations-wise.They are completely off for Retri.(Holy animations are truly amazing I’ll give that tho.)
Warriors are literally dancing around with leaps and charges, yet they somehow still feel like a badass plate wearer at all times, due to 2H/aoe anims.
DKs also feels like they are shaking the ground as they move.
But damn retri paladins…just feel like a joke.Overkill with the colors and silly disney-visuals, overkill with the animations.(Old Avengers Wrath looked amazing, why they changed it to those new ugly wings…? Where are nifty red Seal-spell visuals, sounds?)
I really, really wanted to main this tier-6 wearing char , as he looks iconic and I love the paladin theme/lore.But the overall feel just isn’t there…something is greatly missing, Ret doesn’T feel like a juggernaut.So I keep going back to my warrior.Maybe one expac, I’ll main this paladin if they nail Retri with anims + rotation + visuals.
