Paladin or Monk

I’m trying to decide which one of these classes to pick up for patch 8.2. I’m mostly leaning forward to Paladin, but Monk’s mobility looks really awesome.
What I play the most: wPvP, BGs, M+. Most of the time solo or with randoms.
Roles: Heal, DPS
I’ve already checked them with trials and I can say that Paladin looks really simple and fun as Ret. Monk is also fun, but I always find myself without Chi and energy. Also really squishy class which frustrates me a lot. I just don’t know how is monk survives in the open world on a high level.
In terms of DPS, there is also an open question for me: which one would perform better for 1x1 or 1x2 in the open world. I think I would pick Paladin if I wasn’t scared that Monk will be better for wPvP, lol.
As healers, they are both looks fine. Tanking is not my thing, but I heard that Prot Paladin is good for BGs and PvP.
Could you please give me some advice?
My current main is SV/MM Hunter.

I would go with ww monk, it was decent in 8.1.
Pala is a very slow class, but I guess easy to start, hard to minmax.

Ultimately your call, but draenei leg punches with hoofs looks awesome.

If you’re fine with the monk class fantasy I’d go monk I think it’s a lot more enjoyable.

Personally I hate the class fantasy and the DPS spec so I’ll never roll one myself.

I don’t mind about a slow class if it’s tanky enough. But perhaps it’s because I never really play these classes. My hunter with good mobility, so I can’t complain. The slowest class that I’ve played is Warlock, but as a caster, it wasn’t an issue.

I don’t mind to play a monk. The MoP expansion was fun and class fantasy is also looking nice. My main concern when I play as a WW monk is that I find myself in downtime, without any resources most of the time. And damage from Paladin looks higher. But it’s on a trial without traits.

That’s incomparable with 8.2
My pala has 36%+ haste quite consistently, my monk is unstoppable killing machine.

Pick based on the mobility and looks, cause they don’t change much. Rotation fluency does.

Yeah a trial isn’t a good measure for numbers. Take a look at the traits for each spec on icy-veins or bloodmallet and see if any of those traits look interesting / like they’ll help.

For example a monk running out of resources will improve with gear.

I will say I’ve been killed / seen others be killed my MW monks far more than hpalas.
