Pandaren in lore

Why aren’t pandarens included in Lore anymore??

They aren’t involved in the war at all and we don’t see any?? Like what are their positions within the Alliance and horde during this war?

What is going on?

(Can already imagine the amount of trolly MoP bashing responses I’ll get lmao, thanks)

Umm, They are involved? I’ve done the emissary quests, the quests where you attack the other Factions islands and set up beach heads, and the Pandaren are there, definitely. Their leaders are both in their respective faction Embassies, I mean, yeah, they’re involved.

Not exactly involved or of importance though

Because Pandaren are one of the last played races and definitely one of the least relevant, since they are pacifists in an expansion about war. They have no place in Battle for Azeroth and no one cares about them. I have literally never seen a Pandaren fanboy.

Suppose so.
I mean I don’t mind the race and I loved being their Lore in MoP completely.

Maybe if they actually done something with them more would enjoy them

Ji is in Zandalar wanting to punch Dinosaurs. Aysa is in Borulas.

I know the main Alliance outpost in Vol’dun holds an amount of Pandaren 7th Legion Footmen to!

They’re most definitively around, just not in any meaningfull or important role, because thats reserved for Humans-only.

I remember that in the book BtS there is mentioned how Ji trains the horde soldiers.
Like other said, they are represented everywhere even in the mission tables as units. And their leader are in the cities doing stuff

Blizzard never managed to convince us that the island Pandaren fighting on both sides and against each other made any sense at all, so they don’t really fit the faction war story at all.

And apart from that… they don’t really have an open narrative left. The mists around Pandaria are gone, the Mogu and their servants defeated again, the premature mantid invasion was fought back, te Sha was banished, the turtle is alive and healing, we already dived into their history and culture… there really isn’t much of a racial story left to tell.

So there isn’t really any obvious point where they could be brought in. I guess you could have them be a voice for peace in their respective factions… but the Alliance allready has loads of peace preachers and in the Horde that seems to be Baine’s role already. I guess they could go for a Romeo and Juliet thing with Ji and Aysa, but I couldn’t fault Blizz for thinking that this might not be what most of their playerbase would enjoy… They could be involved in Saurfang’s rebellion, when the time comes… but with Pandaren on both sides it is hard to make a desperate struggle for the soul of the Horde convincing,

But I guess they could give us some dialogue explaining how very conflicted they are?

Really, I think there is no obvious way they can make the pandaren fit the current story, and they would need to start new storylines to do them any justice… but since they really aren’t that popular, and it might take away from the story they actually want to tell… I can’t really see them trying.

Mists of Pandaria is the best expansion ever. Story told right.

I guess that the fact that we are getting at least Pandaren NPCs (for example 7th Legion’s troops in Vol’dun’s outpost) and Aysa is at least present in Boralus is already something we should be happy about.

I have a few nice idea how Pandaren could be included in the story but alas…

Blizzard’s perception of the concept of a “story” and mine are so absolutely different.

The problem is not that there is no way to include Pandaren as a major player, since they could be easily implemented in a lot of ways.

The real problem is that they are extremely unpopular with most of the playerbase, which is not only represented by statistics (least played race), but also by the vast amount of hate they get online. I know that anecdotal evidence isn’t really telling much, but I know 2 guys who have stopped playing solely because of Pandaria.

Blizzard knows this and tries to avoid them as much as they can.

Do they even praise Shaohao?
Do they even know the glory that is called “Pandaren”?

Jin is involved in Zuldazar…but with some ‘memeish’ kind of line about being excited about punching Dinosaurs.

Aysa is on the Alliance ship, but i havent been able to reach her to see her dialogue. Try doing it yourself with the DH, she is on the bow mast of Halfords ship.

She says how she understands that Jaina wants to come back home or some such thing

Sort of off topic but what is Aysa and ji’s exact relationship? I know SOO plainly shows they care deeply for each other but from there I’ve never seen it touched upon are they close friends, siblings or lovers?
