Paragon cache = no rewards?

I just farmed my Valdrakken paragon cache hoping theres some type of reward like in the previous expansions, such as mounts, pets etc, and after getting nothing valuable I went on wowhead and noticed that none of the paragon reps offer anything of value?
Is this not harming the game as in people won`t farm world quests and extra quests for rep once maxed out?
Whats the harm in throwing a mount there?

No, it really isn’t.

Collectors feel forced into grinding rep (even thought they’re already exalted) in order to collect their pet, mount or whatever. And those without the time for such inane grinds lose out.

Rep Grind for RNG chance is just degenerate game design.

The good news is you don’t need to farm that rep any more.
If you do then you’ll get some currency or whatever. This is how it should be, a modest reward for playing the game.

Amazing logic, so people not farming for the stuff that they want and therefore lowering the numbers of players = benefits the game? I was never forced into anything, if there was a nice mount or toy that I would have liked, I would farm gladly the rep and these world quests are very pleasant.
The good news is bad for Blizzard because at this moment I could have played the game and instead I am on forum fighting with forum heroes about logic

Its good that it doesnt have a mount or anything attached to it. It means you can freely ignore it and not loose out on any collectables.

But the reward it gives does need a massive buff to it. Right now, its not worth any time or effort being put into it at all.
Youre better off just collecting 2 or 3 tuskarr tackle boxes.
If they were just going to make it this lame, they shouldnt have bothered. At least then the bars would look pretty.

Depends on how many players you lose due to burning out on such game play.
Rewards should be either RNG like mount drop from a boss OR grindable such as with Exalted for a Rep.
Grinding for an RNG chance is not good. Grinding should give a sence a acomplishment when done but with an RNG it doesn’t.

This could well be, I’ve not done a Paragon since BFA when I tried for a Pet from Mechagon Island but didn’t get it and gave up.
More currency (gold, DF supplies, reagents etc) are a good way to reward players for doing the WQs.
Another way to encourage players to do WQs is to maker their rewards worth doing it.

It’s really good, u get some gold and stuff just there is no collection stuff means u not forced to grind 100k rep+ to get that last thing.

I’m fine with adding more gold, 1k seems kinda low.

Agreed.

I have no desire to farm Rep anymore. The paragon rewards just aren’t worth the hassle.

1000g, 17 pet tokens and Rank 1 Healing Potion. What’s the point seriously?

1000g isn’t going to get my Lariat Crafted
I can get 17 Pet tokens from 1 Daily WQ,
I can craft Rank 3 Healing Potions on my alt. But they’re still cheaper to buy on AH.

I’m done with Rep for this patch.

You basically get 1k gold, a few pet tokens, and some low quality crafting mats.
Doesnt really feel worth the 7500 rep required.

That does sound a feeble reward. I think 5000g, 50 Pet Charms and some crafting mats might be better.
I wouldn’t mind so much if they had an RNG chance at the mounts, pets etc that are sold by the Faction Quartermaster Vendor. This lets players who like the RNG wy of getting something to play that way but those who don’t or can’t can just buy them.

On that logic, everything is toxic. Raiding weeks after weeks for that piece of loot or spamming m+ with pugs during a time frame is even more toxic. I dont see how, if I decide to, farming at my own pace, some reputation , is detrimental to the game. They should just remove the paragon cache all together then

tbh they should have just got rid of the cache completely… we are not supposed to farm it (good) but having such a terrible ‘reward’ that you passively get it a bit :poop:

That wouldn’t work. Everyone would just automatically default to the easiest option which is buy from the Vendor.

Maybe a token from the Paragons to buy the mount from a Vendor sure.

But I’m not against Paragon Mounts. Just against low drop Paragon mounts. RNG can be fun.

There are 3 possible options here - Either you never farmed anything with a crap drop chance, you’re just extremly lucky, or you’re a sadist. You choose

100% This. I’ve always hated grinding these reps, so I can maybe have a chance to potentially get a reward. Tbh, I’ve given up on most BFA/Legion world content because of that.

Probably a mixture between 2 and 3.

But RNG can be fun. But RNG with 0.0000000000000000000029% drop rates will never be fun. (take note Blizz).

I farmed about 20 boxes in zereth mortis for mount, is that fun?

I’m happy about this.

They could be doing other stuff. Because by your logic if you aren’t farming rep you aren’t playing. And you were talking about logic…

That would be nice, a token for a cosmetic reward from the renown vendor (With gold vendor value in case people already have all items/don’t care) would be nice, a lot better than a handful of gold and some low quality mats/consumables, at any rate.

I’m still not sure if designing rewards with the “I don’t want to ‘have to’ farm this”-crowd in mind is a great strategy, though…

Yeh, at the moment I get disappointed when I see I have to claim a Paragon Chest, because I know opening it is just going to lead to disappointment.

Something is definitely wrong about that. Very disappointing.
