Hello!
im a 400 ilvl guardian druid with good gear and have been raiding since bfa!
Back then i heard about parsing and logs for the first time and after doing Uldir i had 85-95 parses on most bosses and i thougt it was cause i did the mechanics right?
I cared zero about damage and just focused on keeping aggro, taunt swap and picking up adds etc.
But now… doing eranog HC, doing 26k dps and parsing 7??
I have no time for guilds since im very limited on how many hours i can play each week.
Why is parsing as a tank based on damage?
I’m asking tanks on the server and they say " in order to pug with good logs you have to play with 2x dps trinkets and burst as much as possible"
I was top 300 prot warrior in CN Heroic.
I barely used defensives but made sure I didn’t die, this allowed for me to pad dps and the healers to pad HPS.
Our two holy paladins where very happy.
It’s a win win!
the question is, why play with such idiots at all? omg… tank dps… where are we? in insane asylum?
I played in the best guilds until mid-bfa. with raid clear we were one of the first. and i never thought that there were so many sick losers in pugs.
that’s the same with “note set” failures. I know immediately that they search for hard carry.
Better question is why would u want any other than dps trinket?
Normal/hc raid is so low on tank dmg that u usualy dont even need to pop any big CD, not even talking about trinkets, its useles to run tank ones ( and they are rather bad as always )
Also, parses are somehow reflection of your performance, but not just yours. Group matters, raid buff PI wf totem etc , kill times CD usage …
Using CD on boss result in faster kill, using them on Adds ( first boss is bad example but u get the point) pads your dps more so better parses …
But like stated above, tanks, and healers also, should do as much dmg as possible while doing their job. And honestly, apart from few cases as a tank there is very few moments where u cant go full dps
