Patch 11.0.5 inacceptable quality deliverance, am I (thousands others) to receive compensation?

There are probably hundreds (if not thousands) like me, I will just give my example.

I am a m+ enthusiast and I’ve been subbed to WoW since 2019.
Earlier this year (in season 4 Dragonflight) I prolonged my subscription to May 2025, as I genuinely enjoyed playing my spec of Markmanship hunter and looked optimistically into a new expansion of TWW.

The introduction of Hero Talents soured my experience, as the much-advertised Dark Ranger proved bland and boring and totally unviable for anything but Single Target and the Sentinel, the only viable m+ spec proved to force you into an agonizingly degenerate playstyle around the Lunar Storm, which was worse in every way compared to S4 DF MM hunter playstyle.

Still, the amazing storyline quests of TWW and the great addition of Warband were enough to keep me playing. Albeit on more casual level. In September news of a great Dark Ranger design rework came and I was thrilled: just wait a month till 11.0.5 and you will be able to enjoy playing your hunter again!

I was more thrilled about 11.0.5 than I ever was before new expansion! The promise of vanilla flavored events, BRD rework, lots of cool transmogs and most importantly, viable Dark Ranger with pleasing playstyle, that will allow me to drop for good that hated Sentinel spec.

What I got was a disaster of a patch, with bugs in every aspect of the game (professions, quests, achievements, raids, dungeon and ofc class specs and talents), events of mixed quality at best and worst of all the Dark Ranger was delivered very undertuned and bugged (bugs hiding the bad tuning), then part of the bugs got fixed, revealing DR as a badly undertuned spec, and then this already undertuned, unviable spec got nerfed twice. And there is not a sign that Blizzard intends to remedy it in the near future.

Most players agree that this is one of the worst patches you, dear Blizzard, have ever delivered, shattering so many expectations. Great ideas, nullified by abysmal QA and tuning work.


Respectable companies in case of delivering such a slop usually offer refund or compensation to their customers. I, like thousands others, am your paying customer. I desire to hear from you, dear Blizzard, how and what you’re going to compensate me for receiving such a low quality product. I would personally like either refund or suspension of my subscription, until you sort this mess out.

„Go play another class / spec meantime” does not work for me. I am very attached to my Marksmanship spec, although I have alts, my main so far has been the same and I will either play it or not play this game at all.
I would like to hear a reply from a Blizzard Staff.

Fun fact brother: in the 20 years of this game (I play since 2004 beta) blizzard has given ZERO COMPENSATION not for poor software development and delivery but NOT EVEN for the downtime of their login servers or realm servers through the years.

I guarantee you, you will NEVER receive any kind of compensation from them. We have NEVER received even 1 day of free playtime for compensation of the days their service is as unavailable.

So yeh well said but there is no such case in Blizzard. If someone had the guts to document all these and take them to the court he would win for sure as long as there is no paragraph that can “save” them in the terms of use which you are obligated to accept when entering the game.

wow my man we have reached 2024 for this. I do not have a clue what has happened to NA. i can guarantee you that my account is open 20 years (even when i made a ticket when you could still do like 6 months ago the GM who answered started the paragraph with “WOW THIS ACCOUNT IS SO OLD” ) and it has gotten ZERO days compensations. I have passed from all stage of service unavailability…realm servers, instance servers, routing issues caused in their end, login servers , random disconnects which was proved it was their issue.

NO COMPENSATION NOT EVEN A DAY.

They gave away 1 day of game time in MULTIPLE scenarios. As stated above, last time was for the release of the expansion, but they regularly do this any time they have SERIOUS problems with queues/game.

Keep in mind they do not do this to individual players, but only to whole areas (either us/eu) in case of reliability problems.

I have had plenty of free days added to my account for inaccessible servers the first few years. Not sure what you were busy with since you never noticed these free days added to your account.

Think we even had a case of 3 days in one go added back in 2007, but don’t remember exactly. It used to say in my transaction history, but I am not sure the history goes that far back anymore(I think it’s been compiled after all these years).

there is an older post in US forums that truly shows NA has taken compensation

I have never noticed anything on my account. it was always paid with my bank card on 6 months subscription basis except last 2 years which is on 12. thats about it. i can check my history indeed

A lot of your transaction history is likely gone, like mine. I know it used to say how many days I got compensated, but my history now only goes back to 2016, then one entry from 2012. Everything before that is just not showing anymore.

Since your sub just keeps running, you probably didn’t notice. I only noticed because of notifications/advertisements about it, and being active on the forums since 2007. Other than that my account also just runs automaticly until my cards expire or I cancel, so it would not be noticable.

Then you didnt play WoD when they gave 1 week and during classic when they gave 11 days total.

Don’t make a ticket. GMs have nothing to do with making the game or requests for compensation. All you’re doing is making the queue longer for those who have problems that a GM can solve.

WoD disagrees with you in the very least. We got 3 days for the absolute poopshow that was the Draenor launch with people being hardstuck at the garrison flying master (and I mean hardstuck. You couldnt move at all).

We used to get ‘free’ days all the time because of server instabilities. Doesn’t happen much anymore though.

I have no illusions about Blizzard’s deliverance policy. My only hope (as tiny as it is) is to hear an official reply from them.

As I had said before, it is a common courtesy for companies to apologize and / or offer compensation, when they deliver a product of lower than expected quality. It could be at least Symbolic.

It is also kinda sad that while Patch’s ideas were excellent (BRD rework, T2 rework Dark Ranger rework etc), apparently some greedy, impatient bosses of either Blizzard or Microsoft mindlessly pushed their employees for the release of this patch within 8 weeks frame rather than giving 2 extra weeks for example for further testing.

I don’t remember such amount of bugs or bag tuning being present in Dragonflight or Vanilla, so I had not regretted for subscribing 12 months before (mainly was a means for me to get discount).
It is only after 11.0.5 I realize how a single patch can totally ruin your fun of the game and that perhaps it is wiser to keep a monthly subscription so that whenever Blizzard blunders, I can protest by withdrawing my subscription.

Withdrawing subscription seems the only language those greedy directors / investors seems to understand and react to.

I personally avoid long term subscriptions in general. I also make sure to unsub every month, so I can decide at the end, if I really wanna play another month or not.
