Patch 11.1, game freezes for 3-6 seconds randomly, in dungeons/raids

Hello??
Could anyone from the Blizzard Team say something?
The Freezes are happening for like half a year now, people are paying monthly fees and the problem doesnt even get acknowledged??

What is this customer service?

Same as everyone else here, started getting these random freezes in 11.1. Mainly get them when I open my collections tab.

My game started doing these freezes after 11.1 got released. From that time I am still experiencing 5-8 seconds freezes.
After 11.1.5 not only my game freezes but also after that my screen starts to flicker like I am blinking. Updating drivers doesn’t help (Intel Iris Xe). To add more - latest drivers seem to be not doing anything with problem. After I update them, game still freezes and sometimes it even corrupts my graphical card driver (that I have to then reinstall manually). Switching to DX11 doesn’t seem to help too - freezes with flickering still happen to this day, I tried everything. I noticed that it happens after some “unloaded” (?) spells or models appear on screen.

Still getting freezes here, twice today in lfr and one in normal raid yesterday. Same as others have said when boss is about to do an ability. Altho also happened the other day when RL put up a break timer

Random 3-5sec freezes here too. Can be at any point in m+ or raid. At pull or mid encounter. About 2-3 times per day at least. Im on a 9800X3D + 5070TI.

I have the same issue for every mythic it happens exactly one time but totally random when and where. It last for 7-8 sec which is really bad since I play as a healer.

For me, problem fixed since i use Nvidia 581.08 Driver.

Stuttering like crazy today, on every minor event such as a new spell cast, follower levelup or a proc from the legendary cape. In Dornogal the screen would just straight up freeze for a couple of seconds at a time, even after fully loading up everything around me.

I have looked at alot of forums posts on this. For me the freezes occurs on DX 12 settings. Changing to DX 11 fixes the “freeze” issue. However i do still have MAJOR FPS drops/Spikes going from 150-200 FPS to 40-50 in dungoens, which makes the game hard to play. Randomly occurs on pack pulls or boss fights, so cant pinpoint the cause.

What driver you use? The Game ready driver or the Studio driver?

At this point I’m pretty sure it’s a shader issue. I cleared all my shadercache (DXCache, ComputeCache and D3DSCache) , from Nvidia and Windows in appdata. Also deleted my wow cache folder, so far no driver crashes for 3 days on dx12

I did all that but if i try to open the transmog UI (Shift+P) everything crash.

Judging from those same issues I had today, the fact I was mounted when I dismounted, but the game hadn’t caught up AND the Server latency was over 500ms and for some reason I can’t dind my Local is over 1000…

The local one I can deal with… the Server one… well… I’m not enjoing my (Long Overdue, due to work being manic in Peak seasons…) long weekend off from work…

Well after Wednesday small wow update fault came back a few times, so no solution with game ready driver. Just have seen there is a new 581.15 from 28.8, but i will wait a few days, sometimes even Nvidia drivers do make problems.

Had it last night for the 1st time while tanking raid, 3x. WoW freezes and a few seconds later the GPU (NV 3060ti) resets, coming back with or without mouse, while i see warped text lines. I ended up alt-f4 and restarting WoW…not fun as raid tank.

I never had it before, but after checking EventLogger and seeing “The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found” it was easy to see I’m not alone.

The only thing I changed the last days before my first freeze was:
1- Install WA
2- Change Graphic settings for Raids+BGs where I (for the first time) changed SpellDensity from Everything to Reduced (there’s no Dynamic anymore, some players reported that Dynamic was a cause for their freezing).

To try a workaround. I now:

  1. added TdrDelay=10 (registry, as many players suggested it helps fixing or at least, it stops GPU from resetting too early, causing further havoc.)
  2. changed permissions of nvlddmkm.sys to “Full Control”.
  3. Removed WA and changed SpellDensity back to Everything.

Hope it helps someone. Please add your experiences solving this "$*%.

Still not resolved. Nothing I’ve tried makes a difference. Sometimes the issue doesn’t appear for a week, then it shows up two days in a row. Completely random. At this point it seems unlikely Blizzard will address it, so the only hope is that NVIDIA or Microsoft eventually fix it.

Giving full control to the nvlddmkm.sys outside of system and trustedinstaller is a ticking bomb, don’t do it.

Just depleted a key cause of it. Still no answer, absolutely nothing helps these freezes, it’s not on our end. Blizzard, fix this it’s terrible.

Still having this happen to me and my friend. Different pcs different ui setups. Can have 10 runs in a dungeon without a single hiccup and then have a 8 second freeze. Infuriating to say the least.

Posting here again. I’m having freezes in wow due to two things: 1) I turn on vsync ,i think it doesn’t work well with g-sync 2) Saved instances(addon). If this thing is on i also get random freezes.
