I was logging in today on my Horde main, planning to use away as many of my radiant echoes as I can (I had saved up 36 out of the app. 50 needed) and attempting to get kills for the Echoes of Danger -achievement during the patch week when delve achievements can still be completed, and you still have your season 1 restored coffer keys until season 2 launches.
Now all of my Radiant Echoes are gone. Elsewhere they are suddenly marked as season 1 (that was not the case last night), but nothing mentioned anything about them going away at all let alone when season ends (not like with delve stuffs as season 2 releases). Obviously I would have used mine up if I had know this.
However the World Soul events themselves only rewarded season 1 coffer key shards and seem to be doing same still + currently existing world quests are also still simultaneously rewarding season 1 keys shards, but thus you cannot enter the events atm without echoes. New Undermine Delves do not reward you any echoes either, probably because it is not yet season 2, and it does seem Khaz Algar delves do not reward those either anymore.
So it would be really wonderful to have concise list of things + currencies that go away and when exactly, because it does feel a bit odd that the echoes vanished when the items they are gained from and used for gaining are still active (season 1 bountiful keys).
Also a bit pointless to re-gather all of those, would have really been nice to know they are going away already at the season end, but it does seem odd considering you get keys as rewards still and can use them this week.

I was planning on finishing the A Series of Echoes achievement this week. But seems you can’t even start the events anymore. Weird thing is that I was able to do 1 yesterday AFTER the patch. But today the Radiant Echoes are indeed grey and even though the screen where you choose event difficulty indicates that I should be able to start the Radiant Echo event nothing happens when I click the button to start it. The buttons for Many Radiant Echoes and Radiant Discord are both greyed out, which makes sense since I only have 3 Radiant Echoes atm.
Would be nice with some clarification on what’s going on with this event, since I’ve seen no mention of it being changed/going away with the Undermine patch. All the focus has been on dungeons/raids/pvp/delve changes with season 2.

Here’s what happened: Blizz turned Season 1 Radiant Echoes into gray items, so when you vendored gray items, they disappeared. I kept them in a bag that is excluded from vendoring, so I still have mine. If it’s any consolation, they sell for 2g each, but like Jasmyn said, even though you can walk up to a Worldsoul Event and click on either of the first two tab buttons (the third one is locked), doing so doesn’t do anything.
I only have about 25 of them on two characters and let’s just say that I feel that this was not handled correctly. I saw in a beta stream that they would not reset, so I didn’t use them last week.

Yeah I figured that’s what happened, since I have the sell auto-greys on. But them not telling they are going be de-activated early enough and then keeping all other parts of the system up was infuriating. Also the patch launch lacked m+ and raids so disabling one more thing people could do as a content felt a bit odd.
Overall what I would really appreciate is a concise announcement with a list of currencies how they are going to function and when they will be de-activated. Preferably IN GAME, because trade chat was wild when the season ended before the patch launch and people couldn’t figure out whey they could not upgrade their gear anymore. That also was not explicitly explained beforehand that that particular part of the seasonal system would stop functioning when season ended, not on patch launch or when season 2 launches.
So better communication, blizzard, please.

The game is probably too complicated for even Blizzard to report on all the details. I would agree though that some bad decisions were made in this case. They could have waited a little bit before turning the items gray and just added a tooltip to the item.
