The boss Patrician Cromwell in Torghast is literally undoable for a solo meele DPS even with best animas. I was on arms war 175 ilvl and his bolts hit me for about 40% of health every 3 sec. There is no way to counter it becasue the plague casts have priority of interrupt and even with boost of ignore pain animas I died to 2 hits. Needs to be greatly tuned down.

+1 this boss is absolutely impossible.
My healing was the following:
-
20% of max hp from Mortal Coil (casted two times)
-
70% of max hp from Phial of Serenity
-
25% of max hp from Healthstone
-
20k Soul Leech
-
20k from covenant bird healing
And this wasn’t enough to survive…
He has 300k hp and I managed to get him down to 150k but his damage is just beyond overpowered.

He casts his plague while moving, who thought it was a good idea ? it’s not even telegraphed that the spell is around him, if you have no means of getting away from him, just this spell will kill you easily
no way to even keep silencing him during the volley, I could kick around 20% of his cast…
Anyway, a nerf or probably a redesign is in order.
edit : oh, and he removes perpetual dots too… range on the volley is INSANE, nearly no places to hide behind wall ( actually there is only one, and that’s the entrance )…
I got him first week around on layer 3, was a touch more difficult than the rest but did it first try all the time. Far from impossible.
Did him with my necrolord 160 warrior.
Did him with my necrolord 162 rogue.
Say that to my 447k arcane blast krits.
I read that dropping those smoke bombs is a way to cheese the encounter. However, by the time I reached him, I couldn’t buy the bombs anymore.
Just use Earth Elemental, and the perk that gives Ascendance to Bloodlust. ez.
I didnt know that about the bombs, I’ll have to give that a go because that guy makes me so mad that I want to stick needles in my eyeballs 
That boss was the one and only one that killed me until now, I had to quit the run, I was 159 iLvL back then and could drop him to 47℅.
It is probably the most difficult (impossible) boss you can ever face as an Arms warrior.
Btw that cromwell was Layer 3 boss of Upper reach. Their power depends on where they spawn.
