I just wanted to come on here and provide some feedback on the current state of the patron work order system. Currently, I perceive to be two major issues negatively affecting the professions system in the war within.
The inability to fulfil work orders with materials from the war bank - I know that this has been brought up before, and has been highlighted as a bug; but I just want to stress how frustrating this limitation has been, and I do hope that there is a fix coming for this issue sooner rather than later. It is really disruptive to my crafting work-flow to have to memorize what materials I need to fulfil the many work orders pending, run to the bank, and search for every material individually. And to make matters worse, if you play alts, this becomes more difficult to deal with, since you have to restore everything into the war band bank and repeat the process.
Inability to craft patron work orders & patron work orders are not on a consistent schedule for all - It feels bad to have several patron work orders that I simply cannot fulfill because of the way I have chosen to specialize in my profession. also, the patron work orders are not refreshing on a consistent schedule for my characters, but instead they seem to refresh at random times, completely unpredictably. it is making me feel very fatigued to need to log in to every character, every day to check if my work orders have appeared. I think this system will work a lot better if the orders refresh once on weekly reset, and once more mid-week, as long as it’s consistent across the board for everyone.
absolute agreement, it’s the biggest problem now and fixing it must be priority #1.
And speaking of warbank, right-clicking should send the material from the backpack to the tab I have open as it works in the guild bank, not throwing everything into tab 1 as I then have to move it back and forth manually stack by stack to correct tab.Another problem is that warbank doesn’t remember the last tab I opened, so when I’m switching between reagent bank and warbank, I have to select correct tab in warbank again and again.
this is more complicated.About the specs, I think that Blizzard didn’t want us to be able to fulfill all the orders two weeks after the release of TWW and that it’s intentional.Players who are active and spend more time and resources to get more KPs will be rewarded with the possibility to fulfill more orders compared to players who don’t spend much time on the profession, I think that’s fair.
To the refresh, I consider a 7-day order to be an unnecessarily long time, if someone can’t fulfill it on Wednesday, he probably won’t be able to do it 6 days later.Maybe it would be better to shorten the time to max 4 days, then replace unfullfilled order with a new one.(I take into account that Blizzard doesn’t want us to be able to make an infinite number of orders in a week.)
The problem with the absurd prices of some materials, for example Storm dust, was IMO also caused by new feature-patron orders.While by personal/public/guild orders the consumed material is converted into a useful item and reduces the demand, by fullfilling patron orders the material is burned without any replacement, it is simply evaporated from the system and the economy, while there is no decrease in the demand for products.Blizzard should add more own fictive material to orders and ask less material from crafters.
I think you’re right
but my god it feels horrible
if I open the work orders 5 times and only 1 out of those 5 times I can find a work order that I can;
A) craft
B) actually gives knowledge
eventually I’m going to stop opening the work orders cause thats way too low of a return rate
