So I am in a guild and have friends I play with in the UK. I have been having a nightmare trying to buy game time.
PayPal gives me an error and even paying with my visa gives me an error.
The only thing that it allows me to do is get a sub. I put in to pay for a 6 month sub. It seemed to have gone through and even got an email stating it did.
It paid it in euros. Says I won’t be charged until Sept 8th. But how do i really known for sure it’ll be charged and not get some kind of error?
I wish Blizzard would make it a bit easier for us to pay for a .eu account. But its been a nightmare.
Especially when I have a level 78 mage and a friend gifted me 30days and got me battle for azeroth. If I can’t extend my time nor sub how am I expected to continue playing? This is so annoying not going to lie.
I shouldn’t have to jump between red tape just to play with my friends overseas. Blizzard needs to fix this.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
Btw when I try to buy gametime in the eu shop I keep getting this. Very annoying and frustrating. I wish they would fix this issue.
I haven’t heard of this issue before… But I that since September last year it have been impossible to pay for a number of things cross region. Like level boosts tokens and such
Without knowing exactly what the error that you’re getting is, the first thing I would do is check with your bank that they’re not blocking the purchase, they may see a foreign currency and as an online purchase that may raise a flag.
Failing that, Subscriptions can only be bought in the Regions local Currency, For EU Euros are default, But British pounds are also accepted if your bent account is set to UK, and Russians can also pay in roubles. You don’t have a choice in what currency blizzard charges you… if your battle.net account isn’t set to the UK or Russia you will have to pay in Euroes.
Blizzard also doesn’t accept my local currency and everything annoyingly defaults to Euros (without giving any other options) so I also pay via PayPal for most things (in Canadian dollars) and PayPal should do a conversion and charge you in your home currency, alternatively you could try it with a credit card directly. Paypal might also be acting up (but shouldn’t) because your trying to access a foreign version of the site and not pay in your local currency.
If all things fail, buying game time codes from a 3rd party could be an option… Even on Ebay I have often been able to find subscription codes for cheaper than what blizzard charges for a 6 month sub.
Tokens have always been impossible to purchase across regions and even within regions blizzard doesn’t universally sell them (in South America for example they dont)… Guessing the reasons behind this is the currencies but I never understood why they cant offer tokens across regions and force you to buy them in that regions local currency, they already do that with the base game and Subscriptions.
Character boosts yeah I dont know, the 110 boosts were available to purchase cross region when those were a things, trying to purchase a 120 boost cross region sends you in an endless redirect loop that blizzard seems to have stated is a bug (but never fixed)… To my knowledge you can open a ticket and contact support to buy them though.
Given how slow Blizzard has been at fixing the cross region purchase system, I am honestly starting to believe that they don’t actually want to fix it, and that they want people to stay in their allotted regions, for whatever reason.
Which is sad that were limited and separate us among friends. What difference does it make it Were paying blizzard? They still make their money. How stupid. This annoys me really.
