Another question. Im too old and haven’t really kept myself updated on hardware etc. since beginning of the millenium… Im going to build a new PC. Will be used for my home studio and Wow and Diablo games (maybe Red dead redemption). Nothing really flashy. Just something in the middle or maybe even lower middle. Does this look like a semi decent build for 2020?
ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 DUAL EVO OC
Intel Core i7-10700 Prosessor, Tray
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 16GB
Kingston A2000 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD
Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 3.5’’ HDD
ASUS PRIME B460-PLUS hovedkort OR ASUS ROG Strix B460-F GAMING (not sure what motherboard to pick…)
Corsair RM650x 650W PSU
Not sure about the CPU - 10700K more fitting, but anyway the Intel is quite expensive vs Ryzen options. The GPU is bit to low vs the CPU. Used GPU right now could give much more power.
It’s a bit hard at the moment as Intel could have new cpu’s coming soon. AMD is about to announce theirs… Though wish they’d hurry up with that.
Same goes for their graphics cards as well.
If anything the best performance is the Ryzen 7 3700X, it maintains all cores at turbo speed for longer than other processors in that generation. Even the Ryzen 9.
But unless you really need it now, can’t recommend buying new hardware until news on latest stuff comes out which can either be cheaper or force prices down for previous generation which could help you put more of the budget into something a bit better than you can afford right now.
All the companies are releasing new things so just wait. If this for SL you should wait and see how your current PC handles it. You might not even need a new one. If you want a budget card wait for January/Feb because that’s when the 3060 comes out which will be extremely cheap and run any game you can think of on max.
