Issue Im facing is in the title. About every 15 mins or so my screen will immediately turn black and my monitor will enter sleep mode. This has only been happening with WoW, the game will run completely smooth then all of the sudden, sleep mode. I have changed my power options to never enter sleep mode, ran system diagnostics and still nothing, starting to become quite frustrating. I would be very grateful for any advice on this. Thanks in advance!
Is it sleep mode for sure? Maybe something is overheating which causes such reaction.
can you provide some information about your PC system model and etc?
ok so these are my specs :
PSU : 550w
RAM :16gb of ram (G.Skill Ripjaws 3200mhz)
CPU : Ryzen 5 1600
GPU : AMD Sapphire Radeon Rx 580 8gb nitro+
Mainboard : Asrock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 Retail
and no it doesn’t seem to be an overheating issue since my cpu was at around ~45c and my gpu was at around ~65c when it happened (all 3-4 times it happened).
Oh and I should probably also mention that I just played a 20 minute match of league of legends and all ran fine . No problems whatsoever.
Hey Gorlorak,
Please post your System Files so we can have a closer look into this. Go through the steps listed here, and create both the MSInfo and DxDiag files. Post them on a page like Pastebin.com or share directly with us through OneDrive. Post the links here afterwards as Preformatted text
, so we can have a look.

I did both but for some reason I can’t include link in this post. Is there any way you could fix that ? D:
You can paste the links in your reply here, but put the link text between `` (or select the link and click the </> button). This makes the text Preformatted text
which will show the link in your reply.

Thanks Gorlorak,
The issue reported (computer shutting down) is often caused by a power issue. From the setup you initially posted, that should not be an issue as the 550w PSU should be enough. When playing intensive games, power consumption will go up and any additional apps and peripherals active would increase that as well.
I’d suggest going through the steps to close background applications and unplug any peripherals you do not need. If you have any RGB lighting active, disable that for now as well while we test things out (this would include lighting effects on your mouse/keyboard/headset and such).

I didn’t have any problem whatsoever up until this point, though. I even had 2 games running at a time sometimes (WoW and Hearthstone) and still had no problem. I did, however, move to my parents house for a few days and I’m using an old monitor I had left here.Is there a chance the old monitor is consuming more power or something?
The monitor I’m using at home is : Samsung C27F396FHU
and the monitor I’m currently using is : Philips 226V4LAB
Hope this helps.
EDIT:
I’m also using an vga to hdmi adaptor since my philips screen doesn’t have an hdmi port .
If the PC won’t shut down when you start FurMark and CPU-Z CPU stress tests concurrently then it’s definitely not power/thermal related. If it does shut down then the problem will be narrowed down. If it’s a system “decision” to shut down then Windows Event Viewer or similar app could have some messages indicating why it’s shutting down.
Ok so I fixed the problem.Turns out the vga to hdmi adaptor was causing problems with the gpu or something.
Fantastic, happy to hear that the issue has been found!
