Out of curiosity - I understood that Broken Isles Dalaran was generally the place to go for DK funtimes, but recently I’ve noticed it’s pretty empty and everyone seems to be in EPL. Are both Acherus’ used or is it just a case of something else going on there?

Both are and can be used!
Currently, there’s some RP going on in the EPL Acherus!
It mostly depends on the events. For casual RP, the Legion Acherus is easier to access to thanks to the Death Gate.
Yet, if you do the Pet Battle Dungeon: Stratholme, you get quick access to it as well.
