Anyssra Lenothel sat in her room in Silvermoon Inn, looking out of the window with a bored expression. Still dressed in her worn out and patched up uniform, she twirled a glass of arcwine in hand, musing to herself.

The street had few elves left at this hour. For all the sin’dorei praise, Silvermoon City was clearly an inferior and rustier version of Suramar. A relic of the past that overstayed its welcome following the Scourge’s invasion.

The conflict with the Knights of Erlae previously opened her eye… She shouldn’t have been afraid of who she is. “A murderer,” her mind recalled the faint whisper before the shal’dorei broke into laughter despite being alone with herself. Yes, she was a murderer. Of course, this relevation wasn’t due to the void’s influence - Freedreamer made sure. But the whispers suggested a good idea for once.

But those around her, even amidst supposed Highblood’s elite were so much beneath even her - even beneath a murderer. Y’lothin Kar’storas for all his bravado was nothing more than a misguided demon. His filthy demon hunter kind of fel addicts should die out soon, having overlived its welcome.

Prefect Felbough, despite her skill and position, is a similar case. Although she can be overlooked, considering how she’s useful and it seems that she realizes this from what I’ve overheard that Illidari should wither soon enough.

Merandus Shadowscribe. A shal’dorei who uses fel. Is there a more vile combination? Disgusting. How could anyone allow him to live? We’ve all seen the fate of Felborne. I have seen it myself too well.

Anyssra cast a glance at her inn room. It was coming up nicely. What was supposed to become a temporary place of stay was being organized into something more permanent - a few decorations were added, thanks to an Imperialist’s commission. She shall yet reach a higher post and see her vision come to pass… Thousands of years for a single eye lost? No, she deserves more.

Suramar shone like a gem. Anyssra was slowly walking through its nightly streets, colored by the great amount of windows. “Home”, she thought to herself. The hour was rather late, even for shal’dorei nobility of Midnight Court.

Hidden around the corner was Lenothel Estate - despite what time has passed since the Rebellion, it still looked abandoned, ruined. Formally, it was Anyssra’s residence, yet she dared not take a step inside ever since her father’s death.

Banners and drapery depicting a purple grapevine have all but persisted - they had holes burned through them and many of them were seemingly ripped out by those not keen on House Lenothel’s heritage.

Even prior to turning Felborne Lenothels were not famous amidst all for their staunch loyalty towards the Grand Magistrix. Some even kept enforcing the rumor that the family drank fel in small portions, perpetrated to action by the Legion’s arrival.

And now it seemed like Anyssra had fel stuck inside of her. Were the rumors true? Was it Govrinth’s, her father’s, doing prior to his demise? Was it something else? Confusion and uncertainty circulated in Anyssra’s head as she stepped inside the residence and looked around.

The main hall was rid of servants’ corpses that decorated it the last time she was here. It looked relatively clean, despite bits of rubble still littering the room. She could only assume it had to do with keeping a good image for Suramar’s nobility in the Court, thus somebody felt forced to clean it up.

Opposite the entrance stood the statue of a shal’dorei woman - the original Matron of House Lenothel, her grandmother. To the left was the staircase leading up to the second floor. To the right was the kitchen and the dining hall. “I have to find answers here, they must be.”

Most of the rooms and locations that Anyssra searched were ravaged and had little in them no matter how much time she spent looking. It was a waste of time. She felt anger build up in her - suffering due to her father’s works in the dark arts and the fact that her mother exiled her from Suramar out of a wish to maintain the reputation.

“Was this what Matron Lenothel expected of her legacy then? Tainted by Felborne, leaving a disgraced daughter behind?” Anyssra pondered as she looked at the marble statue and narrowed her left eye at its face. She then noticed a slight attrition near its forehead - as if somebody kept rubbing it. She furrowed her eyebrows before instinctively pushing up the silver tiara residing on her head in thought, as she had many times before. The circlet was her mother’s, claimed post-death, thus the last memory of her.

As her fingertips touched the purple gem in the circlet, she blinked to herself and came to the relevation. “Surely not, that’d have been way too convenient,” Anyssra thought and removed her circlet before hesitantly crowning the Matron’s statue with it.

With some noise of arcane rumbling, a square meter of the floor moved to the side, revealing a stairway down - one that she was never made aware of. Anyssra blinked at it in surprise as well as amaze. The darkness where the stairs led was unnerving. With hesitation, she took a step down…
