Upon the snow-covered plains of Dragonblight, Northrend; Sylvarus, the Stygian Star casts a shadow across the frozen wastes. From there, those still Loyal to Sylvanas make landfall upon the Carrion Fields outside of Wintergarde Keep as the Cult of the Damned scurry to their side for reasons, other than the pursuit of power, unknown. The chill winds howl through broken down buildings which litter the lands before deaths door, the forgotten shore and the Dragonshrines lie peaceful, their aspects preoccupied with their own affairs, uneducated to conflict that shall soon consume them, if only for a time that shall be forgotten about outside of books which shall rest in dusty libraries. As the Ebon Blade are alerted to the Loyalists presence and the Alliance and Horde move airships upon the necropolis; all who shall live, fight and die for their respective causes and quarrels across the cold front march upon their enemies unknowing of the events which they are about to witness that shall change all that they know, forever…
OOC:
Heya folks,
After the great reviews for the last Cold Front campaign I have decided to make the idea of it being a series a reality, and this one is going to be BIG! With pre-patch around the corner I thought it would be a great idea to ring out the end of Battle for Azeroth with a great big battle before the scourge come knocking at our front doors. Therefore, Cold Front Two shall take place in Dragonblight and will be a campaign which shall logically end with the cutscene we saw at Blizzcon that gets the ball rolling for the Shadowlands pre-patch. For this reason, the campaign does not have a confirmed start or end date because they are to be announced when we know when precisely the pre-patch shall be released.
The Campaign Shall work like so:
- The Loyalists shall arrive in advance of the rest of the campaign attendants, their arrival being the reason why the Alliance, Horde, Scarlet Crusade and Ebon Blade all converge on their position.
- If Cult of the Damned players do not present themselves, they shall be represented with NPCs.
- The campaign shall initially be based around the Dragonshrines. Although there shall be territory and allies to be gained here and there, less of an emphasis shall be placed upon gathering allies and more in gaining the blessings of the dragon flights whilst protecting their shrines from the Loyalists and Cult of the Damned.
- If the Loyalists gain control of a dragonshrine, the Cult of the Damned will reinforce it and siphon it of its power; rendering it useless and empowering Sylvarus which will hopefully become an increasing threat as the campaign goes on. Do not worry – the siphoning is only temporary and after the campaign the shrines will be retaken and restored, potentially through events.
- The campaign, like Grizzly Hills, will have no set story for the most part other than its start and end. What happens in the middle shall involve no set events and be entirely reactionary on the part of the campaign host.
- The campaigns finale will be pre-set and shall ultimately end in the events of the cutscene introducing Shadowlands occurring unbeknownst to us until the helm is broken and the aurora borealis over Northrend gives way to the sky being shattered.
- For this reason, I wish for this campaign to end as close to the day which pre-patch is released as possible and as soon as the day is announced the campaign thread will be updated with the campaign dates. (Discussion needed as to whether we have it end one or two days before the pre-patch releases or literally the night before).
I am hoping that this campaign will be an absolutely amazing end to Battle for Azeroth and give everyone involved some great plot hooks going into Shadowlands and its pre-patch. I hope you can all make it!
