[PCU/Conflict RP] Cold Front Two: Dragonblight [15/09 - ?]

Upon the snow-covered plains of Dragonblight, Northrend; Sylvarus, the Stygian Star casts a shadow across the frozen wastes. From there, those still Loyal to Sylvanas make landfall upon the Carrion Fields outside of Wintergarde Keep as the Cult of the Damned scurry to their side for reasons, other than the pursuit of power, unknown. The chill winds howl through broken down buildings which litter the lands before deaths door, the forgotten shore and the Dragonshrines lie peaceful, their aspects preoccupied with their own affairs, uneducated to conflict that shall soon consume them, if only for a time that shall be forgotten about outside of books which shall rest in dusty libraries. As the Ebon Blade are alerted to the Loyalists presence and the Alliance and Horde move airships upon the necropolis; all who shall live, fight and die for their respective causes and quarrels across the cold front march upon their enemies unknowing of the events which they are about to witness that shall change all that they know, forever…

OOC:

Heya folks,

After the great reviews for the last Cold Front campaign I have decided to make the idea of it being a series a reality, and this one is going to be BIG! With pre-patch around the corner I thought it would be a great idea to ring out the end of Battle for Azeroth with a great big battle before the scourge come knocking at our front doors. Therefore, Cold Front Two shall take place in Dragonblight and will be a campaign which shall logically end with the cutscene we saw at Blizzcon that gets the ball rolling for the Shadowlands pre-patch. For this reason, the campaign does not have a confirmed start or end date because they are to be announced when we know when precisely the pre-patch shall be released.

The Campaign Shall work like so:

  • The Loyalists shall arrive in advance of the rest of the campaign attendants, their arrival being the reason why the Alliance, Horde, Scarlet Crusade and Ebon Blade all converge on their position.
  • If Cult of the Damned players do not present themselves, they shall be represented with NPCs.
  • The campaign shall initially be based around the Dragonshrines. Although there shall be territory and allies to be gained here and there, less of an emphasis shall be placed upon gathering allies and more in gaining the blessings of the dragon flights whilst protecting their shrines from the Loyalists and Cult of the Damned.
  • If the Loyalists gain control of a dragonshrine, the Cult of the Damned will reinforce it and siphon it of its power; rendering it useless and empowering Sylvarus which will hopefully become an increasing threat as the campaign goes on. Do not worry – the siphoning is only temporary and after the campaign the shrines will be retaken and restored, potentially through events.
  • The campaign, like Grizzly Hills, will have no set story for the most part other than its start and end. What happens in the middle shall involve no set events and be entirely reactionary on the part of the campaign host.
  • The campaigns finale will be pre-set and shall ultimately end in the events of the cutscene introducing Shadowlands occurring unbeknownst to us until the helm is broken and the aurora borealis over Northrend gives way to the sky being shattered.
  • For this reason, I wish for this campaign to end as close to the day which pre-patch is released as possible and as soon as the day is announced the campaign thread will be updated with the campaign dates. (Discussion needed as to whether we have it end one or two days before the pre-patch releases or literally the night before).

I am hoping that this campaign will be an absolutely amazing end to Battle for Azeroth and give everyone involved some great plot hooks going into Shadowlands and its pre-patch. I hope you can all make it!

The Alliance Mission:

Heroes of the Alliance,

The dread citadel of the Loyalist forces, Sylvarus, has arrived over the Carrion Fields in Dragonblight. From there they seem to lash out at anything they can across the region; and as if their trail of destruction were not enough it seems as though they are set to work alongside the Cult of the Damned who are attempting to defile and siphon the Dragonshrines for their own nefarious purposes. With the Loyalists at the most powerful we have ever seen them, their treachery ends here. We have an airship preparing to depart for Northrend within the coming weeks, you shall move ahead of it and foil the loyalists plans so that we may strike Sylvarus down from the skies once and for all. Have caution, however, brave soldiers; our spies report that the Ebon Blade nor regional commanders of the Horde are going to be welcoming of our presence in the region and that their expedition forces shall not tolerate our own; neither, obviously, shall the Scarlet Onslaught who hold a power base in New Hearthglen.

Fight with valour, valiant soldiers of the Alliance, see to it that no one stands in the way of justice.

The Horde Mission:

Forces of the Horde!

The Loyalists and their necropolis, Sylvarus, have resurfaced outside of Wintergarde Keep in Dragonblight, Northrend. We would not care for the Alliance’s Keep being under threat from the Loyalists, however, if it weren’t for the Loyalists also threatening to annex Venomspite as their Cult of the Damned allies aid them in draining power from the Dragonshrines and defiling them. The Horde shall send an airship to deal with their pathetic floating citadel once and for all! YOU, meanwhile, shall move upon Dragonblight in advance and ensure that their plans do not come pass before our airship even gets there! Beware though, the Ebon Blade shall not approve of our presence, nor shall the Alliance and the Scarlet Onslaught who seek to cling to their part of the region with extreme prejudice. Our airship WILL blast Sylvarus out of the air and NO ONE shall get in our way!

Lok’tar Ogar! Fight with honour and ensure that all who would oppose us feel the sheer might of the Horde!

The Loyalist Mission:

To all of those still Loyal to the TRUE Warchief.

Our mission shall take us to Northrend where we have received orders to claim temporary cordiality with the Cult of the Damned who seek to aid us in gaining the power we need to achieve our goals. Our Stygian Star shall cast a shadow upon Dragonblight and we shall see the Dragonshrines dominated in aid of their siphoned energies empowering Sylvarus so that it may exact wrath upon all of those who oppose the Banshee Queen. Though know this, most loyal, once you have arrived in Dragonblight you shall establish a base of power alongside the Cult of the Damned and remain there until you receive further orders; it is CRUCIAL that you keep the Alliance, Horde, Ebon Blade and pathetic Scarlet Crusade distracted for as long as possible. Do this, and we assure you, that the time shall come that the true meaning of your existence shall all make sense to you.

For the Dark Lady, it is time to transcend beyond empire and aid her in leading us to our TRUE destiny.

The Ebon Blade Mission:

Knights of the Ebon Blade,

The Loyalists have hung their Stygian Star over the Carrion Fields outside of Wintergarde Keep and the Cult of the Damned have belayed their ceaseless harassment of Icecrown to rush to their aid. It seems that they seek to empower Sylvarus with the power of the Dragonshrines, causing our dragon neighbours who are absorbed in their own affairs problems. The Cult of the Damned having interest in aiding the Loyalists suggests that once empowered it shall move upon Icecrown. You shall stop that. Be wary, however, that the bumbling Horde and Alliance are apparently intending to mobilize a pair of airships upon it, and if that necropolis moves into Icecrown, so too shall they. It is crucial that neither Sylvarus nor the Horde and Alliance meddle in our affairs in Icecrown with the potential repercussions of one or even all three of those weapons of destruction being knocked out of the sky over it. You shall impede the Loyalists as well as the Horde and Alliance if they prove problematic.

We do what we must.

The Scarlet Mission:

To those of the Scarlet Crusade, most devoted to the light,

The time has finally come that the Horde, Alliance and Ebon Blade move upon Dragonblight to attempt to bring down those foul Loyalists and they move upon these lands knowing that they move upon lands where WE hold power. It matters not who you kill, burn, torture, imprison, the Scarlet Crusade shall cut a blazing brand across the hides of our enemies who we have struggled against for far too long. We shall act as an aegis over New Hearthglen and ensure that we, who they cast aside as but a minor threat, shall know the FLAME as their commanders are imprisoned, their machines of war burned and their soldiers left to be ash upon the snow. Sylvanas Windrunner would make herself the new Lich Queen and only we, the Scarlet Crusade, have the benevolence to see that her and all that stand in our way whether they be Alliance, Horde or Loyalist fall to our conviction.

The time for vengeance is now. Light be with you, Onslaught, let our wrath be known!

The Neutral Mission:

Heroes of Azeroth,

The Alliance, the Horde and even the Ebon Blade have fought against those still loyal to Sylvanas Windrunner ever since she betrayed her people. Now we fear they force the hands of all who seek to protect Azeroth from harm as they set their sights upon the Dragonshrines littered across Dragonblight, seeking to drain their latent energies to empower their foul necropolis. The Argent Crusade and the Kirin Tor hereby call upon all of those who are willing to join us in combatting this menace in advance of the Alliance and Horde sending airships to deal with their flying citadel once and for all. Be wary, however. In the North aggression still rears its ugly head between the Alliance and Horde and they might not take kindly to any talks of peace.

Go into this conflict knowing that you are to do what is right, for Azeroth!
