Seeing as you guys have made it near impossible for us to submit a ticket, brilliant, I have had to make a post.
I was in Oribos buying Penumbra Thread from the NPC named “Distributor Au’tem” in the Hall of Shapes. The cost was 5g per thread. Bit much if you ask me, but its the new normal.
I went to my main character to funnel some cloth through so my alt could make a bunch of stuff to disenchant, and make some bags too.
I log back to my alt, I ran out of Penumbra Thread and went back for more. I bought a fair bit, maybe 80 more threads until I saw my gold drastically dropping and I checked, the price of the thread had increased to 9g.
How does an NPC change its prices? Is this intended or indeed a bug?
I kinda want my gold back lol. You have taken away most forms of making a ticket by making us scroll through endless pages of “answered topics” so please, would some try explain this to me?
After checking WoWhead it seems this has been indeed nerfed with an increased price according the comments. But CS wouldn’t be able to help you regardless, you could perhaps AH them not sure if these can hmm.
Though if it’s really bugged and reverted, they may compensate the affected players. Curing Salt is affected too.
Yeah I informed wowhead about 2 hours ago about this so I like to think my comment triggered it but perhaps not hahahha.
Yeah curing salt got hit with it too. Saw that.
I think its a bizarre thing to do but if there’s explanation, I’d love to see it.
Well all my gold is gone now, had invested it all into shrouded cloth and thread these days to then slowly craft it into capes over time, now I’m broke.
I’m so angry and disappointed about this. Like Lurìan i’ve also invested my gold into cloth, because for once! i could actually make a tiny profit from crafting. yeah perhaps 2-3g/item isn’t much. But its better then yet again have a whole expansion with zero profit from your trade.
Do we all really have to be gatherers or alchemists to make gold in a profession`?
Atleast they could have given a heads up so we could finish what we had
*** At least i’m able to sell the cloth fast for the same price that i payed for it, as others might not discovers the price change in threads yet.
I’ve reported it as a bug ingame in the hopes that it is. As a tailor I make peanuts anyway so hope they realise it’s not fair. It may only be 4G more, but at least one item needs 15 threads. There may be more but I haven’t got very far yet.

Yeah there is at least 1 I know of that requires 25 threads.
It’s such a steep increase!

It’s an intended change and in the hotfix notes:
Increased the cost of the following reagents to 9 Gold:
Luminous Flux
Machinist’s Oil
Malleable Wire
Sealing Wax
Distilled Death Extract
Curing Salt
**Penumbra Thread**
Immortal Shard
The vendor shuffle had to fixed but I think better way would have been to reduce price vendors pay for crafted items.
Any idea what to make to at least get some decent money back from this outrageos investment?
Well it was an intended change. Many of us thought this was a bug but … it’s not haha.
Doubt anyone is getting gold back for not noticing the change xD
I generally never post on the forums but I am sorely disappointed in blizzard. The majority of the craftables for tailoring were already selling at a negative profitability and now they even increase the price of the threads? Why not just REMOVE professions from the game at this point?! there’s 0 reason to keep it if they keep nerving the begeesus out of this.

I strongly suspect its because they don’t want people sat in Oribos crafting stuff endlessly, to sell on the AH. They want the players out there, playing the game as they intended, aka, fighting. So they make crafting unprofitable.
I am glad I bought 2k of the stuff on my tailor and on my lw before the price change.
Lucky! Haha.
It’s fine I’ve found a very good ways of earning gold. Made 10,800 in 1 hour and that’s a lot for me hahaha. And its repeatable and NOT an exploit.
I’m proud of myself for as long as it lasts hahaha.
IF you get enchanting and Tailoring you might make some profit.
i think
As tailor and if u have the other raw materials at least u can recover some of ur gold
via
Shadowlace cuffs (3x9=27) (sell=32) ====> (profet = 5 gold)
Shrouded Cloth Pants (5x9=45) (sell=49) ====> (profet = 4 gold)
Shrouded Cloth Robe (5x9=45) (sell=49) ==== > (profet = 4 gold)
but if u have an alt that have enchanting maybe u will get more profets from that for the lengandries (I think)
