It changes their eyes; we all know that. THAT is lore.
But not much else.
Ofcourse you do because it is exactly that.
It doesn’t change their eyes to White however. Which was the claim that was made before.
I have a simple argument.
I m playing WoW since 2005
Explain why from 2005 to SL patch I saw nothing … Colour on races, especially blood elves.
And magicaly, after a simple patch, without any explaination from blizzard and by coincidence related to a specific agenda. Then we saw it
Before the patch : nothing, no NPC, no hero nothing, no guards in cities
Can you explain me how before the SL patch on wednesday guards in silvermoon were the same color and tomorrow some are becoming in another colour
No Garrosh should stay away.
I don’t mind seeing more orcs again; maybe some cool lightbound orcs from AU draenor.
That would make Anzhela happy too. For the light!
That would be SICK!!!
As long as the Alliance gets those and the Horde finds an excuse to get Night Elves
Humans have always been able to select dark skin tones. As for Elves, is there a reason beyind just allowing people to play what they want? I doubt it. Does there even need to be a reason? Not for me, it’s a terribly minor change that impacts nothing at all.
Devi, the Dark Skinned Elf from the books. Alt Timeline or not, she existed and to deny otherwise is a good showing of who you are, despite claims to the contrary
The hell are you talking about?!
We’re looking at a cinematic and we’re trying to put what we’re seeing into context.
“We” being random folks who are just watching a video on YouTube. The video obviously needs to explain itself – what are we looking at? What’s it about?
It has nothing to do with the game itself and whether the quest writers did their job properly or whether the game direction was perfect or not.
We’re just looking at a cinematic and trying to understand what we’re being shown.
And the Vanilla cinematic explains itself. That’s what the narrator does. She frames what we’re about to see so that we can understand it. Regardless of whether we’re Warcraft nerds or random people surfing on YouTube. There’s context to the cinematic provided by the narrator.
There is nothing of that for the cinematic for The War Within. It’s just a CGI reel showing random stuff.
I’m off now though, so this will be my last word in this conversation. Nice chat though.
Devi is not in the game
I’ve no idea. I dislike the alliance so I never played as one. But since DF release DEI was increased in WoW so maybe the guards were the next step lol.
She is still canon
Btw before you all disperse and go do your chores and what not listen… If we all got together like this IN THE GAME and actually you know all went RAIDING together I bet we could down a few bosses
Probably but miss me if you’re inviting Anzhela.
Listen… I will throw some extra mana buns your way just make the boss drop loot… that is all
There’s 100% a joke about wanting you to throw those Orc buns my way instead but it’s far to warm in the UK to be witty right now
But the “lore” in that cinematic was a lie, there was no war in vanilla. Just minor scirmishes. Then we fought a Fire lord, 2 Deathwing spawns, some non horde trolls, an old god and then a Litch. Nothing of the cinematic translated to a war of the factions. It meant nothing!
Im sure you will squirm your way back, you always do
Because Blizzard decided then that they needed to put more diversity into the game.
That’s why. Don’t need a lore reason. It’s their game; they wanted to represent more of their playerbase.
So if you want a lore reason: Because the ultimate gods of the Warcraft universe willed it.
Does that work for you?
Devi can’t be canon if she s in an alternate universe from a … novel book.
Aight. WoD isn’t canon then. The books are considered canon until proven otherwise through future storytelling. This is a book written in 2012 as well.
Did all cinematics explain who illidan is? or the lich king? the answer is NO if you didnt WC3 you had no clue who this Elf alien demon looking flying guy shouting you are not prepared is nor did you know who the Guy in the armor with snow around him summoning a dead dragon is , also no cinematic explained who Death wing is or zappy boi or any race that was ever glimpsed on or shown inside a trailer/cinematic .
Not all of them are made to “Explain who is what from where and why” like WOD did with each Warlord.
