They just enter their own details in, and don’t click the ‘looking for more’ tab at the bottom. Right now on Gehannas there are 5 individual people all looking for ‘razorfen downs’, who have clearly put themselves as looking without clicking ‘‘looking for more’’ to see who else is. Kinda sad they have a group there waiting to be made and don’t realise!
The introduction of the LFG / LFM tool by Blizzard was a complete flop. Compared with the LFG bulltin addon, it’s terrible and the features barely come close to how good the addon is.
The LFG bulletin addon is way better in all areas functions wise, and highly customizable. The great news is it will continue to be supported, and I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t tried to do so, it’s guaranteed to incredibly improve your party forming experience.

lol the LFG tool is utter garbage. bulletin board is way superior, only way is to add the actual modern LFG tool from retail.
They don’t want to make the group, potentially spamming for a tank/heal for dozens of minutes or hour+, they just list themselves and continue questing with an off-chance some other poor schmuck will /w them.
I sometimes, if not often, get a full group whispering me within a minute of posting LFM Tank+heal+dps for instance i need. They all just sit there watching bulletin in the corner hoping someone else will do the “emotional work” of making a group.
All that being said, LFG interface is as terribly useless as it was in original TBC, just get Bulletin Board and start your own geoups. If you announce it, they will come

They really need to make this tool clearer. Right now I just saw there were 5 people queud looking for a group for maraudon. I actually whispered the people to explain you have to click ‘looking for more’ to see who else is looking, and that then they can form a group together. Then what do you know they had a group. Otherwise they all just sit there for hours not knowing that other people are just a click away. I keep seeing people all individually queued who could be whispering each other making a party who aren’t, because they haven’t clicked the ‘looking for more tab’ and seen who else there is. they need to make this tool clearer on how to use it. They just list themselves as looking and then don’t use the tool to see who else is, so you constantly have like 6 individual people waiting who could be in a party together.
You’re lucky to even have 5 people in the finder (who you could connect if you’re looking to run it with 4 of them, often it’s lack of initiative that groups are not being formed). On my realm each dungeon under looking for more has 2 people in it at best (all dps).
As people said there are addons that do a far better job at making groups.
I’m using ClassicLFG addon. I have no idea if it’s compatible with LFG bulletin board (I hope so), but on our realm it’s still super hard to find a group outside of maybe just before raid time or on sunday. I have completely stopped doing dungeons although I like doing them because looking for 4 other people is too much of a hassle, even my guild doesn’t do it anymore unless it’s arranged through discord.

I tried to find a group for Maraudon as level 53 char, some quests were still yellow for this level. I couldn’t use it because I didn’t see Maraudon on the list … apparently my level was too high.
It’s a bad implementation.
Another major problem is people not understanding that you don’t HAVE to be tank or heal spec to tank or heal these low level dungeons. GEtting '‘Sorry i’m prot/balance/arms’ all the time but then if you can persuade them to try it it always works out no problem.
