In last AV weekend I used to farm AV on 2 different characters since the waiting time is so huge, played about 20 games in both chars or so where there was some over lapping games where I wasn’t participating that much but wasn’t fully afk grinding honor either and the outcome of the bg would have been same if I focus on other char the last 5mins of other bg.
Anyway, seems that was reason to enough bad 2 of my accounts for 8 days as well. I did appeal about that but as you may guess “There’s nothing we can do”
One can guess how much not being able to play PVE on 2 resets mess up the gearing and progression on smaller servers.
Sure Blizz bans and cares about some ppl afking a bit but not people buying hundreds of thousands of gold and still they are not taking any stand on current bg issue
People who buy gold are starting to be hit with suspensions and having their gold removed.
Also they just introduced Horde vs Horde BG’s.

You AFK’d in a BG and you paid the price.
Maybe participate next time, noone wants a teammate who’s just AFK.

I got suspension for almost same thing, I got suspension because i get 4-5x mage Table than leave BG since my server have less than 5% mages, i get suspension for 8 days, playing game 15 years… shame

I get suspension for almost same reason, i took mage food and leaved bg few times and 8 days suspesnion lol, 15 years wow player here, shame
My point being if I did play 36 hours or so AV where one could count the minutes I was inactive, playing on other char which AV may have popped once the other one was ending. Getting 9 day ban on that is a bit over kill since I bet some people might be inactive on single AV and that’s nothing.
Yeah they introduced horde vs horde bg but that was couple days after I got banned and if this would have existed there wouldn’t have been any reason for me even que AV on 2 chars due the 1-2 hour que times.

I ranked to 13 in Classic and was never suspended once being AFK in BG’s, and yes, I sometimes got up and ran to the toilet to do my business there etc.
So sure, in total over the ranking from nothing to 13 I was probably AFK for a few minutes too, but the only way you get suspended for 9 days doing it is if you do it, repeatedly, and enough people notice to report you for it, which they wouldn’t if you, as you claim, at most were AFK a few minutes in total.

imagine afking in a battleground and wondering why you get an 8 day ban. Stop leeching and learn manners.
Nothing frustrates me more than an AFKER. Imagine him being also low level with his AFKing attitude and just dragging the whole team to losing a BG,
Logs aren’t investigated they’re automated.
Certain amount of people report you in a set amount of time, you’ll get banned. It’s SUPER abusable.
Somebody pissing you off in game? NP, ask guild to report them for cheating / Spamming, you get say 25 reports in a 5 minute window you’ll be banned by the automated ban system.
Problem with BG AFK bans is that people will report you for defending a base, but they’ll moan when nobody defends bases.

What you write here has been shown to be a lie that people tell themselves to feel better for whatever reason, there was a blue posting detailing some info that he or she was allowed to give like 1 or 2 weeks ago, just don’t remember if it was here in the English forums or the German ones
So no “long” bans are not automated, even if you think about it you could see yourself that this is a lie else Botters wouldn’t be such a problem
I got banned for fishing in Alterac Valley, in Classic.
Blizzard has many ideas of what “non-participation” is and will gladly ban you, should they get the chance.
When I was banned i asked them why it was even possible to fish in BG’s, the answer i got was along the lines of: “From TBC and onward its disabled, so you are basically exploiting the game right now…”, stating i was non-participating and therefor deserved a ban.
honestly I did rank 12 solo back in early 2020, which often resulted me being afk for like 2-5 mins (toilett breaks during BG, grabbing drinks & food during a active BG etc…)
Never had any issue getting banned.
it seems as long you don’t are a “extreme” afker (botting or legit just being straight up afk every BG) you don’t have issues.
as much as i hate when ppl afk in bg’s, a 9 day suspension seems a bit ridiculous when the people buying gold seemed to get off with only a few days while they are actually ruining the game way more
