Because it does not matter if I kill a mob in the open world in 5 seconds or in 6.
In Timewalks everything is scaled down anyway and I do not go Mythic.
So why waste money on something that will soon be out of order anyway when I can consider myself already rich if the gold sum on a character is 5 digit.
The cauterizing one isn’t great, I agree. And the others are generally more expensive. Maybe see if you can find a nice enchanter? The mats themselves aren’t too terrible (unless it’s Order…). I’d offer but my enchanter can only do rank 1 on the secondary stat ones, I’m guessing if you can find a real enchanter, you’d have more chance at a higher rank

Again, why should we know about Enchanting? This is not like TBC where we got just spammed with gems in Outland to give us a taste for Jewelcrafting. I play since August 2008 and I actually found out that people talk about taking care of their gear as a meaning for enchantments 4 years ago.
These players aren’t people heavily invested in their characters, or pushing high progression, they are casuals and people coming back to the game, they haven’t got a clue but they can press their buttons and do the dungeons.
The game doesn’t make it very obvious about enchants, with a million options spanning 10 expansions, and then they go look at a guide and the guide says to use this weapon enchant and it’s 6000g, and they think “no thanks I will wait until I get a better weapon” instead of looking for a cheaper alternative.
That’s why.

there is an enchanting profession trainer in every city
there is an enchanting AH section.
There are always some people on trade/services offering enchanting services.
Every single guide online mentiones enchanting.
I have hard time believing SO MANY people can actually miss the fact enchanting exists - OK it apparently happens but… idk - if you inspect someone’s gear as a noob and see all the extra info with +55 mastery or Homebound speed - wouldn’t you just ask - what is that? Idk
I’m guessing you’re correct with this. The interesting thing is, as both the OP and others pointed out, that the lower your ilvl, the more enchants actually have a significant impact. While people themselves may feel only the better/best gear they will get is deserving of that kind of attention. It’s a bit of a paradox.

can we all agree that mojito is trolling? people who do not enchant their gear have no interest in helping the group and will give any group a hard time, because they dont care about mechanics or survivability or their dps
Your pugging a rise 22/23, up pops a dps 480 ish geared and he gets in your group. Do you give them a once over? Check out their gear?
Or just think cool he has decent rio, right it lvl…lets goooooo!. First boss the guy dies twice after dying on trash on the way to boss.
Thinking wtf is with this guy. Check his gear, almost no enchants, bad gems, not flasked, no rune. You caring now?
Not saying enchants or gems/food/flask etc would save him… but you sure know he is not mentally there for the challenge and help as much as he can. The gemming and enchanting shows he is at least setting himself up to start off on the right track.
That goes for the rest of content that is current. HC raid to some may seem easy and minor now, for most it is still progress. Especially if pugging.
I bet if people do not have max everything when you are pushing your mythic keys, you either kick or ask them why they aint flasking, eating, taking cookies etc etc.

You are pulling everything out of context. It wasn’t even clear by the OP it was about heroic and +18’s. And 18’s arent even that high. We did that first week in almost full previous season gear. And i have said multiple times i will enchant from heroic track pieces.
Since you ask about +22/23. Rise, for crying out loud. And 480 ilvl. I am pretty sure i do not have to answer your question.
But on the other hand. Nobody dies because he has no enchants. And there are tons of people enchanted who die too to frontals. They are not related to each other.
