People who use addon and then complain the game is too easy

Addons are immense help in World of Warcraft classic, certainly weakaura’s and other tools to help with your rotation and buffs. Quests are nullified by Questie who blindlessly tells you where to go, and then we have certain addons that tell you where nodes and silver rares are going to spawn.

Then there are addons that such as the enchanting one, where the addon is borderline on the edge of outright botting. Automatizing the process of interacting with your fellow players and shouting in /yell or /tradechat “LFW enchanting”.

We don’t even have spell bars in World of Warcraft classic, yet there are addons for it which is a huge game changer in PvP.

I was just wondering, how much the average player would suffer if addons suddenly disappeared over night?

Would make me drop the game instantly tho.

Even back in 2005 we looked up quests on thottbot, Questie just automates this.

I also don’t want to have to manually list everything on the auction house.

Main reason to play for me is the see your dmg go up over time from getting new gear and other progression, so no dmg meter or logs = no me.

I would just not find such a game enjoyable in 2024

The enchanting addon was a bit of a weird experience when i interacted with such a person the other day tho.

I just wonder who the game (ST) is balanced towards, non-addon users or addon users.

Blizzard are almost always assuming people use addons, That’s why Retail WoW has such insane mechanics that would be impossible to react to intime without addons.

Sounds like World of Warcraft isn’t the game for you then.

Then I don’t feel bad about not performing the best in ST then. :innocent:

If basic gameplay requires addons to perform well in then you as a developer has failed to develop a functional UI and telegraphing system for the player.

It most certainly is.

I have loved logs gaming in all 3 phases of SoD so far.

Always being 80-95 is fun, I did 1.200 dps on the Jammal fight last night.

If you remove that i’ll simply leave, so it’s not gonna make me “Appriciate” the game more if you decide to make the entire ordeal more tedious or unfun.

I mean it sounds like the reason for why you play isn’t for the game itself but rather the measuring stick that third party websites provide.

I completely understand the desire to want to see selfimprovement and wanting to better yourself but I think those should be private internal tools.

Yes, Blizzard have for years just assumed addon people will “Fill in the gaps”

Remember that Blizzard did not have their own UI customisation options (Like move, resize etc) until dragonflight, everyone who did not have addons had to play default UI since 2005.

On one hand it is lazy of a behemoth like Blizzard.
On the other hand, undoubtedly it did free up resources from being spent on UI.
“Why fix a problem the fans will fix for us?”

I Have already played classic 2019 until 2021, I don’t need another “For the game itself” experience.

Now i play for the paladin changes and to see logs in these new contents

good times eh

Personally im not using dbm/wa/bw and any ‘rotation helpers’.
I didnt use them in retail, i dont use them in sod rn
But I like the way that addons living with wow, its just a part of it
My eyes are bleeding when im start play any mmorpg, their hud is garbage and i cant customize it the way i like

its balanced for bads.
ST needs to be buffed to be even remotely challenging.
anyone worth a spit can do it blindfolded at this point, and this was the case since week 2 of phase 3.

removing addons won’t make ST any harder, the mechanics are nonexistent and WCL directly encourages ignoring mechanics and just hit the boss to parse.

that means the raid is braindead easy.

the original vanilla 5 man dungeon version of ST was harder than the 20 man raid version of ST.
Eranikus was notorious on the hardcore servers for his difficulty. he is quite literally a joke in the raid version, by comparison.

what made Eranikus dangerous was his thrash, and they outright removed that so now there is no excuse for struggling on him.

you can literally 1-tank him now, pump defensives on the tank, force him to sleep, tank drops stacks, Eranikus melts like a b"#/&

what a joke.

And yet, some people who had fun in BFD and Gnome and could clear those just fine struggle with clearing ST that feels like work to do. :person_shrugging:

I’ve seen groups that both wipe and don’t wipe.

You should join a PuG grp and see the actual state of the game outside of your “good” team"

I did a No death run yesterday so i know it can be a cakewalk but i’ve also been in grps that wipe at least once on every boss after first and can’t even get to the last 2.

we have to pug 5-10 people every week.
only an idiot would lock themselves into a full 20 man pug.

get a guild.

and it’s those people that want the raid nerf

Make an alt and join one of those, see how the pugs do the bosses.

You need some perspective :>

If they remove addons without a complete UI overhaul I am quiting the game. I simply can not play with the default UI, its horrible.
