Performance issues in Emerald dream

I believe theres something weird with optimization in emerald dream. I have RTX 3080 with 10700K playing in 4K all maxed out with ray tracing disabled. I dont think ive ever seen below 60 fps anywhere. But in emerald dream, i sometimes see 35 fps which is quite unpleasant. Changing from 4K to 1440p suddenly gives me 120 fps average. Does anyone else have this problem? Can you guys at Bliz address this?

Return to 4k and go thru each setting one by one to see which one is having to biggest impact.

Maybe that’s the issue. Even with RTX off you are pushing your graphics to the limit, especially on 4k resolution.

After all 4k is 1080p x 4 in resolution. More resolution means of course more processing power required. Processing power that other fidelity options ALSO use. It doesn’t necessarily mean the game is unoptimized. But it can mean you want too much from your GPUs limited ressources.

After all, WoW runs on an old engine, not a recently made one. There are limitations to optimization.

“Compute effects” causing huge performance drop in emerald dream since there is alot of fog in this area. Switching it from “high” to “ultra” gives me 30 fps drop which is insane. And at the same time i couldnt see ANY difference.
