Hi,
I have some degree of neurodegenerative disease. Because of I am using most of my time trying to figure out where my friends are in crowded locations like battlegrounds. If I could use some kind of system that works like raid markers but a different set and visible just for me that would really help me.
I really like this suggestion. If they were different from the regular raid markers and only visible to yourself that would be really handy.
This would be fantastic and something they should seriously consider. The game’s visual clarity isn’t the best to begin with, so lots of people seem to like putting the party markers on tanks for visibility. I’ve seen people complain about having the marker on them though, and remove it, which is a shame for those that need it.
Personal markers would completely solve that! c:
Perhaps Weakauras could do that?
Any WA Gurus about?
Im not 100% sure on this, but I don’t think it is currently possible.
In the past they have removed the ability for addons to identify where friendly players are in instanced content, to fight addons that completly trivialize mechanics. That’s also the reason why there are no more addons that can modify player nameplates.

So when it comes to friendly units we’ll have to wait till Blizzard becomes active.
It could work for enemy units though as long as there is a way to uniquely identify units. There’s already Weak Auras that highlight nameplates of specific mobs e.g. explosives in m+ by checking the units name. So if it’s possible to distinquish two units with the same name it should be possible to display personal raid markers for enemy units.
Crosshairs addon should help you see enemy targets, makes a big difference for me.
Thanks for replies guys. I tried Crosshair it is a good mod but not quite the mod I need.
It’s a shame they removed a lot of this functionality since the min maxers used it to create addons or weak auras to trivialise hard boss mechanics.
For instance, addons like vuhdo used to have an arrow that pointed in the direction of a person if you hovered over their raid frame in a BG, that way I had a clue which direction to run in to heal someone without resorting to the minimap. But to limit the min maxers they had to break stuff for us mortals too.
It’s a shame.
My eyesight is pretty bad so I use raid marker quite a bit to follow people.
Often I have to create a group in LFD so I can use the world markers to mark spots on the ground where I need to run to for an achievement etc. Although sometimes if I’m struggling the group times out and I lose my markers
Having my own markers would be very handy.
I’ve stopped doing LFR because the legion ones were mazes and I got lost so often. Being able to mark someone might have made it easier.
I’m in a community these days so when I do group content they are great about assigning a marked guide for me.
Hey Fuinequendi, and others who shared!
We strive to make our games as accessible as possible, and to that end we’ve made a special communication option available to let people contact us about any suggestions they might have to make our games more accessible. You can read more about this here.
Thank you for sharing your story and best of luck :).
I definitely agree.
I like to put a mark on the tank every time I go into a dungeon, but sometimes I get some pushback on that.
I just want to make sure I know what the tank’s hitting so I am not hitting the wrong group and getting myself pummelled.
